Best Western Plus Dockside Waterfront Inn

The rooms wete clean, but being by the lake there were knats/flies that were near window or door. We had to ask for extra towels for a family of 5.

Stayed here with my family for a trip up to Mackinaw Island. The hotel has so much potential!! The rooms need to be updated for sure. Big bulky furniture. The bathroom wasnt real clean, mold around the edge of the bathtub. The pool area was nice but there was SO much chlorine in the pool it was burning our eyes and skin to be in it. The beach area was nice but there was a big drainage pipe in the middle (not sure what was draining into the lake! Gross!) The little outside patio areas could have been so much nicer with firepits and such. Just a little disappointed.

Arrived early and was able to check in which was wonderful. Got a first level room which was convenient for the beach access. But the carpet in the room I was in needs replaced it was soaked and smelly. We didn’t use the beach so the wetness wasn’t from my family. My opinion is if you have a flooding problem or an issue with people tracking in water the flooring should not be carpet. Upon checking out I told the counter person about my concerns of the carpet and told her that it had a horrible smell to it but she didn’t seem to be concerned or apologize for it. Parking was over loaded due to being sold out. Both nights I had to park else where because they didn’t have a space available.

The room was very clean and comfortable! The pool was clean and the kids loved it! The view was beautiful! We will be going back.

It was ok. 3.5 out if 5. The room was on a smaller side and outdated. The paint was coming off the ceiling in the bathroom. The space between tiles was moldy in some places. While the room was mostly clean, the sofa pillows were covered with white drops that I suspect were a sperm. Really? Not the best place for a child to sleep. Breakfast was ok. Nothing fancy: pancakes, oatmel, omlet, toasts, yogurt, granola bars, cereal, ham, bananas and oranges. Not fancy, but at least some variety. Pool was on a smaller side. The staff was cleaning the floor while children were playing in the pool, so all the floor cleaner from their feet was in the pool and the water was making the eyes burn. There was no changing room outside of the pool area. You either change in the tiny restroom inside the pool area, or walk to your room wet at 54 F in a wind. The location was great. In the middle of everything. The beach was relatively clean. The staff was accomodating. The sheets and towels crispy clean. There are prons and cons.

No bike racks; some midges in the room; no laundry bags. Spacious family suite options.

Our first room had a plumbing leak. We were thankful the staff was quick to switch us to a new room immediately. The second room was clean and had balcony with a great view of the beach/lake. Free breakfast had many options for our whole family.

We enjoyed our stay. We found it very comfortable and had a good rest! We felt safe. Will recommend to family and friends!

Room was in disrepair and no repair. Ceiling had issues. Had pictures missing off the walls with hangers still there. Broken switch covers and code violations with smoke detector. One of the pillows smelled like a mouse had died in it. Had a dehumidifier running in it so the room must have had water issues but nothing obvious. All in all it was a crappy room. Way overpriced. The beds were good the family all said they slept well. We will not return due to the experience however.

My wife refused to stay here after we saw our room. Dirty and dated, this place is run down and worn out. May be OK for biker types looking for a place to crash but not at all good for families.
