Hilton Garden Inn Kalamazoo

It’s very kept up on and has a clean atmosphere very family friendly as well.

My visit was last minute, a family medical emergency. Adam, the night fellow, was very friendly and supportive, making a very difficult situation easier to cope with.

The walls in this hotel are paper thin. We were up half the night because we could hear the people in the room next to us talking & laughing. Called the desk multiple times during the night & they said they’d ask them to be quiet, every time I called & said I can still hear them, man at the desk got noticeably more and more annoyed with me. It was so loud that I originally thought it was people hanging out in the hallway but the man at the desk said security went up there & no one was in the hall. I can’t believe I could hear them that loud if they were in their room. They weren’t even like shouting or playing music, just talking loudly & laughing, sounded like they were maybe a little drunk having fun but not insanely rowdy. I just can’t believe how much we could hear them. It was like they were in our bathroom. I eventually gave up & complained at check out the next morning. Woman at the desk said that is a common complaint & there was nothing she could do to reimburse me since I booked through Expedia. I paid for an extra nice hotel for a relaxing evening away from the kids but would have gotten more sleep if I had stayed home. I’ve never been able to hear people in the room next to me like that in a hotel. Otherwise the hotel is really beautiful & comfortable. If we had quiet neighbors my experience would have been excellent, but they need to add more soundproofing.

Breakfast on site was a great amenity. The bartenders Lexi, Harrison and, Katie were kind and accomodated my every need. Overall this has been a great stay and I will totally recommend this place to friends and family that might ever end up in downtown Kalamazoo.
