Holiday Inn Express Boston - Waltham, an IHG Hotel

Just your average hotel, nothing fancy. Just fine for the average family traveler. No pool is probably a big issue for many but we didn't need one.

It was a last minute trip for a medical appointment. We needed two rooms and were able to get them next to each other which was a huge plus. The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet which was greatly appreciated by the family member who had the medical appointment. We would definitely stay there again if the occasion required it.

For visiting family in nearby Arlington, this hotel is perfect. My room was spacious with many drawers for storage; the bed was comfy; and the bathroom vanity had plenty of space to put my stuff. With a microwave and refrigerator, I can keep and reheat restaurant meal leftovers. Breakfast includes many choices and is satisfactory, though the lack of gluten-free options will present a problem in future visits for a family member with gluten sensitivity. Lastly, the "green" feature to skip housekeeping is a great feature; when only staying two nights, daily clean towels are not necessary. The only problems experienced were a non-working bathroom sink stopper (fixed quickly) and a non-working TV remote volume control (not fixed after I reported it). I would also suggest that the Keurig machines be regularly cleaned; I wouldn't use the one in my room (water looked like there was mold in it).

The area is pretty quiet and safe, also with free parking which is what we are looking for with a newborn. Otherwise, not too much going on around.

Yearly trips to the area to visit family are consistently enjoyable here. The establishment is well run and we can always depend on courteous personnel and their willingness to accommodate. Always clean, well staffed, and happy to assist.

We were there to attend a family wedding on the 12th. We were no in the rooms that often, but when we were things were great. We especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning - great variety of things to eat - well hot as well as cold.
