Hampton Inn Laurel (Fort Meade Area)

The night I checked in to the hotel the bathroom door locked and the door handle looks like the kind of door you use for offices. I called the front desk and the lady said there is no maintenance person on the premises and he will not be an available until Monday. I told her that I have personal items in the bathroom. I asked if she could call a locksmith and she gave me a scissors to try to open the door. Apparently, looking at the door looks like someone might have experienced the same issue I did. I told her I am not. She can to my room with a screwdriver and saw that she is not going to be able to open it. I asked her what if a child was locked in the bathroom and she said she would kick the door. Ofcourse she know she can’t. I called the locksmith and he asked why will a hotel bathroom have that type of lock? I paid $189 that night and I told them that they have to pay me my money back and she said no.

Am most disappointed about House keeping condition. I stayed there 4 nights with my family including kids. Its only one time the House keepers entered my room when I went to the front desk to complained to change the towels and pick up trash in the bathroom but never replaced the toilet paper. The next day I reported the matter to the House keeper, she wrote down my room number, promised to come but did not see her till I checked out.

We had a few problems. I messaged saying it will be great if we got connected rooms. No reply. Looks like there may be none. But no communication. The first assigned room did not have microwave oven. The second assigned room had the oven but also bad odor. So, I asked the old room back with microwave oven moved. I was simply given the key fully ignoring about the oven part. Second was that the breakfast time was kept as a surprise! The written time was 6-10 but out of our three days, two alternate days it was 6-9 and the middle day was 6-10. Nobody had any idea what it is going to be. Poor communication with customers and among themselves. The mini-fridge was inside a cupboard which had strong magnet on door and extremely difficult to open for kids and my wife! (the other room did not have any magnet at all) Good part: We checked in around midnight. The service was good (except the above problem). Breakfast was good, but only white bread choice. Our room was good. Bathroom was spacious and table space was good. Enjoyed our stay.
