Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena, an IHG Hotel

Dubuque/Galena Holiday Inn was fantastic! Stayed here with family & will do it again. Check-in was a breeze. Breakfast was great. Room was superbly clean. I couldn't have asked for anything more. And if I had, I'm sure they would have tried to help out. Was very pleased with our stay here! Thank you HI Dubuque/Galena Iowa

Went to our suite and kids where in the hall playing hockey. The bedroom door was cracked and looked like it was kicked in at some point.

Great hotel and room was wonderful. The bed was soft, pillow options great, air conditioning string and bathroom was perfect. Loved that there was a restaurant in the lobby serving good food and drinks. Hotel was quiet and I slept like a baby

It was clean and lobby areas were nice. Pool was disappointingly tiny! Room was small but nice. A bit tired looking, but very clean. I wish they had recycling. Restaurant was understaffed and they were stressed! Prepurchased breakfasts were credit toward meal instead = false advertising! We had to pay extra in person. Overall, we thought we overpaid substantially and could’ve stayed cheaper elsewhere for a better pool, breakfast, room, etc. The location was great, but we paid what I’d expect for a bigger city hotel. We love family travel & wish our stay could’ve been less disappointing.

Horrible horrible pool facilities!!! Won’t be back only reason we booked here wash for pool 3 families pool was so cold could not go in and hot tub had plywood over it what a mess!!!

Hotel was fine as far as the room. The pool is small, which we knew because we've stayed there before, kids still had fun. On Sunday morning housekeeping knocked on the door around 9:30, check-out is at noon. They tried to enter the room with the master key twice while we were getting dressed!

Location is very convenient to many of the downtown features. Parking on the upper ramp is limited. Room was in decent condition, but small. We experienced barking dogs during the middle of the night. Also, the pool was closed after unruly kids were using it and didn't open for the rest of the weekend, which meant our kids who are well-behaved could not use the pool. It seems like ownership is either trying to avoid liability associated with the pool or management doesn't want to be bothered with keeping the pool area available to guests. Since we chose this hotel specifically because of the availability of a pool, and since the pool was closed for a fairly lame reason, then I can only say this hotel is very much over-priced for what you get out of it. We'll select someplace else next time. We recommend that you do too.

Our room shared a wall with the pool which was one floor below and was right by the elevators. Plenty of noise all evening, screaming kids in the pool until 11pm, people talking to one another in the hallway by the elevator. Appears that when you use hotels.com you get the crap room.
