Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Freeport, IL

We had a great time staying here. We went for a family wedding and the stay made for a wonderful time. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. The people who work there do a super job of making you feel welcome.

After a long drive we checked in and were assigned a room that smelled horribly of smoke and mold. There were dead bugs on the floor and the carpet was very dirty. My wife and children could not stay in the room due to their asthma with the smells. We requested a different room and were a second. The second room had the same smell. The front desk attendant then stated that the rooms on the second floor might be better for us. We then went to the second floor and examined a room there. That room was much better as far as smell. There were hairs on the beds as well as large red stains on the carpeting. This was the last available room so we had the stay in that one. The beds were not very comfortable but we had no choice.

Great breakfast nook area perfect for meeting with family. Pool was fun and relaxing. Bed(s) very comfortable

I’m from out of time and wanted to celebrate my granddaughters 4th birthday, They allow my family and myself to use the pool and the breakfast area to serve pizza, cake and have my granddaughter to open presents!! They went above and beyond!! I thank you all, so much!! Words could not ever express my thankfulness!! God bless you all!❤️🙏

We chose Country Inn and Suites because it was rated the highest for the limited options in Freeport,IL. and we needed a place to stay for a family event weekend. We rented two rooms. Immediately upon check-in, we noticed there were many “rough looking” individuals hanging around the property. They would hang out at a picnic table outside and stare at you as you walked to and from the front entrance making you feel unsafe. The first night I asked the front desk staff member about the situation. He said he was new, and wasn’t sure what was going on, but the police had been called to the facility two days in a row. He said there were many locals staying at the hotel who were actually from Freeport. One of our rooms was filthy with cobwebs in the corners, and my son caught and killed a cockroach! I went down to the complementary breakfast in the morning to find about 10 “ghetto type” women talking very loud and cussing, so I walked out. My guess is Country Inn and Suites was housing displaced Section 8 individuals. The toilet in our room was clogged from the beginning and we had to call staff several times during our stay to use a plunger just to get it to flush normally. It was obviously a bigger issue than just our toilet. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but there are also some very rough looking staff members, especially at night. I am not one to write reviews like this, but I felt it was necessary. Again, there are not many options in Freeport.

IM SO UPSET! I will never trust housekeeping staff again!! Our clothes were stolen.. adult & child and make up bag! There were multiple people complaining of missing items all our rooms were cleaned by the same housekeeper. The manager did get descriptions of items and was apologetic! I hope the hotel makes it right or atleast gets the items to be returned!

A few unpleasant things happened. We were given a key card to someone’s occupied room. This could have been very bad if a person was coming out of the shower or worse. Not sure if anyone was in the room or not but it could have been bad. Then we got 2 accidental fire alarms at night because the front office made an outside call. To do this they have to dial 91 but if they dial another 1 it automatically calls the fire department and police department. And all fire alarms go off. All hotels should stay away from having 91 to dial outside. This scared families and we all had to gather our stuff, put jackets on and almost had to be out in the snow and cold. Luckily there was no fire and no one got hurt
