Holiday Inn Bloomington - Normal, an IHG Hotel

1/6/2023 made reservations for 2 queen beds--6/9/2023 4:40pm room #235 had 1 bed & a bed/couch-good for kids-not so much for 3 adults. Room was next to the pool-Sat night we were kept up till 11:30 pm with kids screaming in the pool--Sunday was drive day-after no sleep/interupted sleep-no rest.---no we will not return to this location.

We met our kids there to watch a ballgame. It was Mother's Day weekend as well as graduation weekend. The hotel was full. 120 people checked out that day and another 120 checked in. Five of their cleaning staff didn't show that day. In spite of the chaos, the general manager was very accommodating and kind. The front desk staff tried to find everyone a clean room as soon as possible. Our room was clean and comfortable.

The workers are local kids, possibly from ISU. The front desk do not care about service, I had to take in my own bags to the room by using the hotel dolly. The lobby is so big with no dimension, it's dry and unattractive even-though they try using "upscale" lighting fixtures and color schemes to distract that the lobby looks like an oversized factory with a metal roof. the rooms are small and if your room is in the interior part of the hotel your view is the lobby . no sun light what so ever. This hotel room did not have an IRON and IRONING BOARD this is 2018 people. I called to request one and they didn't bring it. Front desk is lazy and unmotivated. The bathroom is small, make sure you bring soap because they equip the showers with facial soap the hair conditioner no shampoo. the Radisson really sucks. Go to the Hyatt Uptown. They were sold out the night i had to stay so I had to settle with the Radisson .

The pool policy is to stay open until midnight. I had a work presentation the next morning early and heard screaming children in the pool until too late into the night. I called down for help, got attitude from front desk and then finally got passed to management. The physical layout of the hotel combined with the policies make this a hotel chain I will not visit again.
