DoubleTree by Hilton Mt. Vernon

The room had only 2 towels in the bathroom and they were just tossed under the sink not even folded. The fridge and microwave are in this fake dresser looking thing and the door to open is the most complex and idiotic design I’ve ever seen. The room was very hot and hard to cool. Broken mirror in the bathroom, dust all over the place in areas that haven’t been cleaned in quite sometime, a previously used thing of toilet paper was left on the roll which to me is so disgusting and just simply unsanitary. Is it really hard to just give the next paying customer a clean, fresh, unused roll? I mean seriously. A huge family reunion was happening so the place was very loud with drinking happening to the point they were puking in the elevator. Just overall poor experience. Breakfast was decent and staff were great in the morning at the check in desk and for breakfast but the lady during the night I think needs a hug and some prayer..

Whenever, I visit family in Mount Vernon I always stay at tge Double Tree mainly because of the pool size. This time my stay was horrible. I was in room 504, the heating unit didn't work and I froze every night even with a extra cover. The refrigerator never got cold for my beverages. I had to flush the toilet twice even if I peed. And the door never fully opened or closed without making loud announcement to everyone on the floor.

Upon check-in, we discovered that our room had been propped open by someone and we had to go back to the main desk and check in to another room... We paid for one king bed but got transferred to a double queen in a room that was adjoined to another room. This was frustrating because this is not a common occurrence for parties that are not staying together. We ended up being across from a small family that kept us up most of the night... We had stayed at this location previously but after the lack of cleanliness, room snafus, and the overall unprofessional demeanor of the staff, we will not be returning.

Booked the hotel and arrived late as we were on a long road trip with my young child. Outside, lobby, hallways, and room reeked of marijuana. Id have canceled that night but it was already too late, so we left very early. Beyond the stench, the whole area was filled with loitering people(and not in a good way) When I woke up my car had been scratched and someone had popped my ev charging port. Only good point was the service at the desk, one of the loiterers tried to cut in front of me and the woman politely told them I was first. Ive stayed in a number of double trees, and most have been really good which is why I figured this was a safe bet. However Ill definitely not be staying in another unless I know it to be good going forward.

After locking in on a decent price in Expedia, we were surprised to learn, upon arrival, that the Doubletree was charging an additional $40 PER room (we booked 2 to accommodate our immediate family) PER night for "incidental damages". That amounted to an extra $240 on my card that could take anywhere from 5-7 days to be reimbursed. Additionally, the hot tub and pool were incredibly dirty. Algae and grime were found in many places in the tile grout in the hot tub (in the pool as well). This made the hot tub a total lose- when our family was really looking forward to enjoying at the end of a few very long days. The staff were excellent. The cookies were tasty. But the facilities lacked to be desired for the $1000 (plus incidental damage deposit!) I spent for 3 days of accommodating my family while in town for a funeral.

The front desk staff were friendly and nice. The cookies were delicious. The room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is located near alot of eateries. They also have a restaurant at the site. I didnt like the fact that they hold $40 a night for incidentals. For a long stay that can add up. They offer free breakfast, it was ok. The toilets are super low, if you're a toddler then they are perfect. Overrall, the hotel was fine.

Tesla super charger on property. Restaurant serving hot breakfast buffet on property. Very friendly staff. They even had to go boxes. Convinient to have onsite bar and grill. Hotel was well maintained and clean. Lots of families staying
