Great hotel! Rooms are a little dated but the service totally makes up for that. Loved the kids activities at the pool daily and the relaxed feeling…not uptight at all even though it’s a nicer resort. Jordan, our waitress at the pool, was amazing too.

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary at King & Prince. The staff is outstanding. We love the southern hospitality here. From the front desk, bartenders/wait staff, pool staff and Becky booking our excursions, we couldn't have asked for much more. We plan on bringing our kids and grandkids with us next year. This was our first time at St Simon.

We went for New Years weekend with family and friends. We’ve been to St. Simon’s Island many times but never stayed at The King and Prince. We all splurged and decided to treat ourselves.
Pros: Our king suite was beautiful! The bed was extremely comfortable! We stayed on the second floor of the main hotel building and it was very nice and convenient. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas! The band they had for New Year’s Eve was awesome! Amazing views and access to the ocean!
Cons: The lobby and bar areas were not consistently cleaned and there were used plates and glasses everywhere. The lobby bar was always extremely crowded and the wait for drinks was very long (even when it wasn’t New Year’s Eve, which was ridiculously long). We had dinner reservations at Echo at the hotel on New Year’s Eve for 6 at 8:15. We weren’t seated until 9:30 and it was 3 two person small round tables put together in the lobby area next to the computers. Our server was completely done by the time he got to us.
The Cottage coffee shop on site was run by two disgruntled employees one day and only one on the other. Extremely long waits and unfriendly workers. Our family members had a room in the Oglethorpe building. They had a drain backup that got fixed but then the workers left hair and debris all over the tub with a sewer smell. Family had to call 3 times to get someone to come clean it. 6 hours later, someone showed up to clean.
We definitely expected more from King & Prince!

We stayed at the King and Prince between Christmas and New Year's. The location is ideal. However, during our stay (Dec. 28 - Jan. 1), our room was never fully serviced. Also, the hot tub was usually filled with small children most of the day, limiting access and enjoyability if we did try to use it. Since the pools were too cold to enjoy, many parents just elected to let their children run free at the hot tub, often with limited supervision. ECHO restaurant was wonderful, and the staff were very pleasant.

The hotel was old , curtains were stained. Housekeeping was horrible. They didn’t even make the bed I had to call the front desk. They charged a resort fee of $20 a day. For what… I didn’t use the gym. The hotel allows pets now I have 2 dogs of my own but I wouldn’t take them with me.
The beach was awful. To get to the beach there were stairs and 3 steps were buried under water that you can’t see. There was no sign posted it’s an accident waiting to happen. There were too many kids.

We went for our 33rd wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of property, and how well maintained it is. We loved our room and we had a lovley balcony. It was very nice listening to the evening music from our balcony. Our bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was wonderful to have a refrigerator for cold drinks. However, the coffee maker in the room should be thoroughly cleaned in-between each guest. We are tea drinkers and everyday there were coffee grounds in our cups. Very nice pool area and towels were readily available. Yes, you can take the towels to the beach.
This resort is a... "BEACH FRONT ONLY"
It does not say anywhere that it has beach access! I had read the negative reviews before I booked my stay and I would like to add this note...the beach access points of which there are two, are public access. Now, on the south side of the resort the DPW has not repaired the stairway to the beach making it impossible for handicap
people like myself, elderly, and young children to get down to the beach. Again, NOT the resorts fault! Or you can climb down the large boulders. However, you can stroll on over to the north side of the resort, a beautiful walk I might add to access the beach, so worth it!
Anytime I spoke with the front desk they were very friendly, any of the other staff, including the pool and towel staff they were less than friendly. We will plan another stay at The King & Prince Resort

Wonderful family outing to have a beach day. The pool was very crowded but not with kids in the kiddie pool it was adults. No fault of the hotel but we couldn’t enjoy the pool. The beach was where we ended up staying there were towels on every chair but everyone was in the pool. Not blaming the hotel for this but it’s very hard to explain to a little kid. Overall a great place to stay just don’t expect to use the pool
