Golden Host Resort - Sarasota

Our family of 4 had an amazing time. Large pool, great sized rooms with updated appliances. The decor and vibe were awesome, the pool area in general has tons of seating. It was pretty empty since we stayed on a Tuesday night (which we didn't mind at all!) but it looks like a great place with live music and atmosphere on weekends. Hope to come back. Close to love of good food, beach and interesting shops.

Room smelled very musty on moving in. Took about a day to clear the air. Platform bed is a hazard. Easy to bump hard corners when moving around at night. Otherwise nice relatively recently renovated property backing on nice upper trail neighborhood. Good lighting. Room clean but no maid service provided during stay of four days other than swapping towels and other special requests. Only 3 pillows on king bed and that was not available when requested. This worked well for us as we were visiting family nearby and did not spend any real time there.

Room was decently clean but found signs of not a very detailed cleaning. We found Bobby pins on the back of the toilet and a spill in the mini fridge. We scheduled a room cleaning 24 hours in advance and did not get it. If you are staying with your family or small children I would request a room further away from the tiki hut. It can get kind of noisy but really wasn’t that bad. they also didn’t stay too loud too late but idk how it is on Friday and Saturday night. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect for us. We felt completely safe and comfortable our whole stay. All in all it was a positive experience for $100 a night and would stay there again.

Property was more of an inn or motel than a resort. Best feature is the pool, heated nicely. Staff are nice, tiki bar is a nice feature but not for a young family.

This was a classic vintage Florida motel that's been revamped and redone. Very cute. Very clean. Everyone was very nice. The beds were super comfy. They are actual full-size queen beds. You can tell that they did really cute upgrades for the kind of space that it is but we had our own little patio. It was very quaint but not too small. I would definitely stay here again with my husband and my family. If I knew I was coming with friends, I definitely think for the price renting a couple of rooms next door to each other would be so adorable. Just because you had your own little patio that overlook the pool and the pool was clean. The vibe was cool. The tiki bar was right there. It seems like they have something going on almost every night of the week, but it wasn't too loud. Sleeping was great. It was fairly quiet and definitely would recommend this to anybody that doesn't want to stay in like your classic corporate hotel.

This is a motel in the classic sense. You can park in front maybe 5 feet from your front door. Inside, it captures the mid century feel with the updated decor. My unit had the refrigerator and microwave just like the photos showed. Had my own A/C unit with a real thermostat. Walk-in shower was a nice modification. I'm sure they were tub/showers originally. The whole place was very recently renovated and it is very clean and sparkly! And a great bargain too. And as a final note, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on in my travels. It's not 4 star. It's not supposed to be. But it really reminds me of family trips when I was a kid. And it was quiet during my stay too.

This resort was amazing! Super warm and big pool. The Tiki Hut (bar) is super nice as well. Overall great place to stay for families! My young son loved the pool.

Older building but nicely remodeled! The staff was super nice and that’s so rare these days. I love that it’s a small family owned business. Already planning on staying here again.

My flight into Sarasota for a funeral was canceled due to Hurricane. The hotel was not willing to refund or work with me or Hotels.com to get refund. I will recommend to the Sarasota County Government and the State of Florida of such business during a natural disater in an mandatory evacuation zone of this event. Inalso will tell all family and friends to pass along the actions if the hotel.
