Embassy Suites by Hilton Sarasota, FL

My family and I checked in on 10/3/24 and checked out on 10/7...two days before hurricane Milton made landfall, and we were waiting for the Breeze trolley,... bus,... whatever, to take us to the airport. When we finally saw Breeze driver turn the corner towards the hotel pick up area, he/she didn't even stop at the designated spot to give us a chance to walk out from the hotel lobby. They just blew by the pickup point (clearly marked as any other mass transit stop) and kept going. Wind was already kicking up, it was raining, and we had a flight to catch. After we told the hotel manager what had happened, he asked his shuttle driver to take us to the airport; even though the hotel shuttle does not pickup/drop-off at the airport or beaches. The hotel manager was very empathetic and apologized for the inconvenience (even though none of it was his fault). Long story short, our stay was very pleasant, the entire staff was cordial and accommodating, and the management went above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel! May god bless and watch over all of you. AAAAA++++++!

Great option for family during off season. Included breakfast was delicious. Clean and spacious. Gorgeous views.

We took our family of 6 to Sarasota for a long weekend. We were excited to stay based on looking at the pictures online. The building is nice and has a parking garage. The lobby looked and smelled nice. We stayed in a room on the 16th floor. It had 2 queen beds in a separate room and a couch with hideaway bed in the living room. One of the first things I noticed when entering the room was the smell. It smelled like a cat/cat litter had been inside. I was tempted to tell housekeeping but somehow we became nose blind until we left the room and re-entered. The bathroom door is a barn door and frankly wouldn't close all the way. I didn't like this as it felt like privacy was an issue because of it. We enjoyed the free breakfast daily along with using our destination fees for desserts from the in house restaurant. The pool was in a nice area on the 8th floor with a small deck. It's too bad the deck wasn't bigger. You can see a beautiful sunset there. Overall I would give this hotel a "good" rating. Main issue from being rated excellent is the way our room smelled and the barn door to the bathroom. I will give compliments to the housekeeping staff. They cleaned and straightened our room while we were out. They brought us towels when we asked. We would consider staying here again.

Great comfortable place to stay for families

Should have been advised when making reservation that pool area would be closed until 7pm ssturday due to special function. We had booked a family vacation and pool was a major function for the kids. $35 + tax per night rediculous for self parking. Needed a wheelchair for my injured wife to leave hotel. None available. Had to use a chair with wheels to get from room to parking garage

Our family loved this hotel. It was very clean and a great location. The free breakfast was very good. Each day it was slightly different and they offer an omelet station. The pool is very nice with a great view.

The embassy suits was nice hotel and served our purpose as a family. It was conveniently located and the room itself was comfortable. Here’s the only issue I had and it had to do with customer service. Our flight was delayed coming out of Rochester NY because of a compromised tail issue. At first it was a half an hour and gradually it became three hours. We tried to make a loud connection out of Charlotte but was unsuccessfully. We missed the flight by 10 minutes. As soon as I was able I reached out to Expedia and they helped navigate the situation at 11:30pm and called the hotel to inform them of the situation and that we would not be staying in our final destination which was Sarasota, Florida. The person Expedia spoke with told our agent that they would look into it, but we would be receiving a refund for the first night. When we got to the embassy suits on Monday morning, I spoke with several employees which included the desk clerk, a manager and a supervisor and they all told me that a refund would NOT happen and they couldn’t eat the cost of the room. They said the hotel was sold out, and this was income they were losing. I empathized with the big conglomerate and emphasized that this was beyond everyone’s control and in fact, as soon as I was able, I communicated the situation to the correct people. I felt that the management was u reasonable, curt and not customer friendly. This was not just a “no show” as they used that term several times. Poor cust service
