Mixed reviews with this hotel. Some staff were friendly and helpful, while others seemed like they didn’t even want to be at work.
Wifi was spotty at best and only really worked while in lobby. Rooms are what you would expect for the price. Bathroom is useable but nothing to write about. Bathroom sink hand no water pressure and trickled out.
Only 1 server in lobby restaurant/bar who was overwhelmed; didn’t help that he walked away after taking orders for half our table and didn’t come back for another 20 mins to take orders for the rest - our kids’ food arrived after everyone else was finished eating.

The valet driver crashed our rental car into a pole while trying to park on the first night. The elevator was broken, the rooms were dirty/ not cleaned properly and closets smelt like mold. One of our rooms toilet was broken, the other room had a water leak from the air conditioner that drenched my sister’s newly blowed out hair before the wedding we were about to attend. Our other family members had issues with dog hair in one of the rooms, another with bugs crawling out of the vents. I would not recommend booking at this hotel.

The room hadn’t been cleaned properly and the elevator was out of order. We were staying with a baby so that made things difficult.
But if you’re looking for an affordable place in the city center it’s a decent choice.

The Exchange Hotel was an excellent location in downtown St. Pete. We were able to walk everywhere. The hotel felt very safe, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and service was prompt. I liked the historical building, yet it was renovated with modern décor. We stayed for 2 nights while visiting family, it was exactly what we needed.

Our trip was wonderful overall but there was some construction installing underground gas line that was vibrating the entire end of the building. But seeing that we were not spending to much time in the room it wasn't to bad. We had great service overall and the Valet Guy was amazing. We had talked about spending some more time in St. Pete with our two children and staying at this location. It was in the epicenter of so many activities and within walking distance for everything.

This was just a quick overnight stay. The room was clean and comfortable. It is on the small side so would not recommend for families. The staff were helpful and hoapitable. The pool was next door to the location and rather small with many leaves. I liked the location best. Easy to get around and so much to do nearby.

While the staff was wonderful- the actual hotel was so so. Our room had nats in it, and we couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. The AC was also so loud we could barley sleep. There was also a smell of mold not only in our room, but also a family members as well. The location was wonderful but we won’t be coming back to this hotel, it was not worth the price.

The property is old and the room is small for a family of four. The room was a little dirty as the rug hadn’t been vacuumed. Paint is peeling off the floor boards, but overall the friendliness off the front desk staff and gentlemen operating the valet parking enhanced our stay.

The staff was friendly and lovely. It just fell short of my expectations. The bathroom was tight and the shower set up was strange. A standup shower with two glass panels ceiling to floor, but in the middle was a baby Gap sized shower curtain. The wash cloths ended up serving as a make-shift bathmat to collect the inevitable water from a way too short shower curtain. The water pressure and temperature was good, so the shower was good til you stepped out. The only parking available was valet, 2-hour street parking or pay per hour in a lot near by. Not the most ideal. The location, however, was perfect. It was super central and convenient. So many awesome things in the surrounding area, the downtown area, St. Pete Pier, and lots of beautiful beaches. We ventured to Clearwater beach and Busch Gardens and it only took us 35ish minutes for both trips. All in all, it wasn’t my favorite hotel but it certainly wasn’t a bad one. Great price and location. If you’re not fussy about wet feet, you’ll be enjoy

Very clean room and the rest of the hotel was also very clean and tidy. The hallways are pretty hot which I would say is related to the age of the building. Pool was being worked on when we were there so I can’t speak to that. The bathrooms are very small and in general the rooms are not very big. Not an issue for me for an overnight but worth making note of if traveling with children, etc. Overall, very nice spot for an overnight trip. Hotel is very close to the pier, probably a 10 minute walk at the most. Would definitely stay again.
