The Betsy South Beach is a gem with all the charm and splendor of a 5 star hotel. It is an older hotel, much like the others on this part of South Beach, but unlike other hotels, the service here is top notch. From Fritzner at the front desk, to Fritz the bell hop, to Ana the hostess at LT Steak & Seafood - the staff were all professional, warm and friendly. They made you feel so welcome!
The rooms are adorned with books and artwork giving a feeling of being at home. The only drawbacks to this hotel were the air conditioning and size of the room. The air conditioning isn't very strong, so the room felt a bit humid, especially after using the shower, but was still comfortable at night when the outdoor temperature goes down. Next time, we will book two rooms for our family of four, so we could have more space.
There are plenty of places to sit and relax at The Betsy. The library and adjacent hallway as well as the lounge/lobby have plenty of couches and comfortable chairs, not to mention outside with the many patios. The swimming pools are well taken care of as well as the gym. Water and towels are available at both pools.
Bottled water is readily available to guests at the front desk or from housekeeping in your rooms.
It is situated on the quieter part of Ocean Drive, but the beach, restaurants and shopping are all within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Miami!

Not sure about this one. Great location and cool building but service seems off. They didn’t have the room types we had reserved weeks ago so switched it to something else without letting us know. Luggage was never sent up. Currently waiting for a long time for someone to come and make up the kids’ bed. Not sure we’d book here again. Dinner was good.

Beautiful and cozy, relaxed family atmosphere, impressive service and quiet rooms, direct access to the beach, great food and pool... the only surprise was how small our room was but it ended up just fine and impeccable every morning.

We stayed 5 nights at the Betsy as a family of 3 (with a 16 month old). Overall we had a lovely stay and glad we chose the Betsy.
The location is great, next to the beach, opposite the park and near Lincoln Road, Española way and on Ocean drive. You’ve lots of eateries, coffee shops and shops around the corner.
The hotel itself, whilst a little tired around the edges (but it’s an historic building) is well maintained. There’s a variety of places to hang out, the bustling bar/lobby, quieter courtyard, cafe area and library. There’s a lovely rooftop pool (and courtyard pool) and other rooftop seating areas. We had the American breakfast each morning at the LT Steakhouse, which was amazing and great quality. The staff there were all very friendly and attentive and really made our stay, and made us feel special. They even gifted our daughter a Betsy soft toy, which was very sweet. We also ate at the restaurant (outside) one evening, which was nice.
We stayed in a classic king suite, which suited us well as it had a separate seating area so we could put our daughter to sleep in the bedroom without having to sit quietly in the dark. The room is well stocked with bottled water, lovely Malin + Goetz toiletries and a coffee machine. There was also a white noise machine (which we only realised on the last day), which is handy with a child. The hotel was tidy but we found the room wasn’t hoovered during our stay (a crawling toddler easily attracts dust).
Overall a great stay

This is a nice boutique hotel with a classy international vibe to it. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating - front desk, hotel manager, bar tenders, cleaning staff etc. On some nights the lobby has live music. We met the entertainers performing on a Saturday night, who turned out to be a family. Incredibly talented and friendly.
The smaller rooms are SMALL, but we chose to upgrade to a larger room with a view of Ocean drive. We were very happy with the upgrade. The rooms are very nicely decorated and more updated/nicer then some of the other hotels on Ocean drive.
We wanted a classy, quiet and convenient hotel - Which is exactly what we got.
Close to everything on South Beach. A short walk or Uber ride and can be anywhere in SB within 10min or less.
The roof top pool was small but quiet and relaxing. The poolside sushi was very good and the bartenders were friendly.
The Beach is literally across the street and the hotel room includes complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrella.
All in all it was a great weekend trip and look forward to staying there again in the future.

This is a great property to stay. Staff are very friendly. It’s a very beautiful hotel and also very clean. I highly recommend this hotel from the Solo traveler business traveler or a family vacation. I stayed in a one bedroom suite with a sofa bed and balcony. The only thing that I didn’t like was that there wasn’t a kitchen in the suite. This is great if you are there for a few days then you can eat out. I was there for nine days. So a kitchen was definitely needed. Other than that it’s a great luxurious hotel to stay at.

Our stay was disappointing. Like the South Beach area the Betsy is feeling tired and a bit resting on its laurels in terms of quality of provision.
It is saved by the overall friendliness and service of the more junior staff while management need to be more conscientious to bring the Betsy back to where it should be.
