The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

Excellent location. Superb beach access. Multiple dining options. Different attractions. Planning on bringing my family back soon

We stayed for 4 days and each day was a battle for parking. We had to park far away from where our building was. They do have plenty of luggage cart unlike other places. Upon entering the room everything was neat and clean out balcony had enough room for us. The tv was very hard to connect the chromecast feature to and would not stay connected which was a little irritating. You can’t connect an HDMI cord because the tv is mounted. The microwave and mini fridge in the room sucked but we barely used them. The shower design is a little weird. The pool is weird as well. It goes from 4 ft to 8 ft to 10 ft then back to 4ft. No lifeguard on duty either so pay attention to younger kids. The only thing I would change is getting an ocean view room next time. This place is great for a 4 day trip or less and everyone is super sweet. My biggest issue was the parking but overall no big issues and the easy beach access is very convenient

The rooms decor is dated, the wallpaper is ripping off the wall. Be prepared to listen to annoying music until 11p. The pool area is crowded, and full of children that are unattended. The elevator is slow, hot, and smelled constantly of chlorine and/or weed. The staircase cannot be used in place of the elevator, because it led to no where. The curtains don’t close completely which didn’t block the morning sun. The shower head is dated, and provided no pressure. The wristband that is provided is expected to be worn around the grounds, yet you have to remove it to reach the tight fitted electronic reader throughout the hallways. The best thing about this room was the decent sized TV, and being able to see the ocean (partially).

The property was very kid friendly. We had a really nice suite with a terrific view of the water.

Really good place for the kids

We had an amaing time the staff was great when we chexkes in the lady at front comped two drinka because it was our honeymoon and the guy named charles that works early in the morning was amazing it did not matter how early we came to him requesting good coffee he would go above and beyond and make it for us. One morning it waa 430 and the other i beleve 5. I could not ask for beyyer treatment. The amenities was amazing i really thought it was special the show they put on foe the younger kids. We plan on returning.

This place was a nightmare. Zero security and it was actually quite frightening. Hotel is on a public beach and boardwalk and because there is no security nor locks on any entrance to the hotel or pool area all the people on the beach and boardwalk come up to hang out at the pool. It’s a free for all. No cameras anywhere. Any random psychopath can come up and take a child without anyone ever knowing. Guests have to pay $50.00 a day for parking but the public parks for free so you have to park in a garage a few blocks away. This place is so run down and disgusting. If you care about your safety and the safety of your family run as fast as you can away from this place. Just really awful experience.

Good family fun, probably one of the better places to stay around here I think however the girls at the first desk could definitely use some hospitality training. I would consider it a 3 star resort not a 4 star in all honesty. Some updates are needed in the resort & rooms but we did have a great time, the drinks were fantastic and the pool & beach were amazing and well taken care of. I would stay again but if a few updates were made & the staff had a bit more hospitality training it would definitely be a 4 star resort.

It was a great property. The kids enjoyed it. The beach was beautiful. One star has been removed since you have to pay for the umbrella and beach chairs.
