La Serena Inn

This was our third time staying at La Serena and it was perfect for our family. We stayed in the family room, which was perfect for us with 3 adults and 3 small children. The room was clean and tidy, equipped with kitchen utensils and dinnerware, dishwashing detergent, and paper towels. We took advantage of the hot breakfast offered each morning. We also utilized the laundry room before we left. The hotel is walkable distance to all the restaurants and shops by the water. I always recommend this hotel to all my family and friends who are going to Morro Bay.

The room was a pet friendly room which I loved and the staff was friendly. The only problem my family and I had was the older lady that took care of the breakfast she was rude to my husband and didn’t seem to want anyone to get food

My family stayed in the 2 bedroom with full kitchen and were very happy with our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and safe. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials. Our stay here was much better than many of the Airbnb's. I would highly recommend. Great value!

Hotel is nice and walkable distance down to the Main Street. However, I felt like the staff was rude which made my rating drop. This was a bummer especially the breakfast server, she was not kid friendly at all not only to myself but other guest as well which I thought was horrible!

The pet friendly room was amazing and the staff was as friendly to my 2 hairy babies as they where to the adults.

Highly recommend... My family and I loved everything about our stay, rooms were extremely clean, Every staff we encountered was polite and helpful and food was delicious.

This is a positive criticism. I gave it 4 stars coz the room was large than most hotels. Clean & not super outdated. It’s simple & very convenient. But.. (u know this was coming) The staff on check in gave me a cringe. I asked if I could have the room with the view His answer: 3rd party bookings do not get an upgrade. I worked for 9 other hotels in Morro Bay. I also worked for Intercontinental & Ritz Carlton.” I know it’s not true because I do get upgrades from Expedia. I also thought he is young to have worked for all those places in a lifetime. I also had camera equipments with me but not featuring the hotel so it was turned off he said… Are you recording? If you are I have to bill you $10,000 because I am a celebrity. I gave a laugh because people do make that joke around me a lot. He then said “I’m not kidding. I am a celebrity”. I just smiled because he might mess up my room reservation. The next day unfortunately I saw him again & he asked did u enjoy your trip. I said yes. He then said “you cannot steal otters. There is a sign that says it” in a serious tone. At this time, I realised there is really something with this guy. I hope he is ok but the welcome from this hotel is not pleasant. Front liners are very important. The lady on the other shift was very nice.

The room was very clean and looked newly updated. We had the family suite with had a full kitchen stocked with the essentials. Only problem we had is the hotel is listed as pet friendly but only some rooms which was not disclosed. So we had to get a separate room to have our dog, since the suite is not “pet friendly”. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The front desk staff person was super helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping needs to really focus on cleaning as our room, although beautiful, had many areas needing attention and had been grossly overloaded and missed. The room set up was great for our big family so wr will likely stay again and hope they step up the housekeeping.

We had an incredible stay. The room was perfect for our family of six. The kitchen was a great size. We plan to return and stay longer. The staff was one of the friendliest I have ever experienced at a hotel! Their complimentary breakfast had the best mini cinnamon rolls that they get fresh daily from a local baker. Morro bay ward is a short walk from this location. I can’t say enough good things about this property.
