We stayed here as a family group in the suite and it was ideal for us. We had plenty of space, the beds were comfortable and we had a small kitchen area. The staff on reception were brilliant and were so helpful and friendly. Parking is on a local car park (we opted for the valet service) and we were able to either walk to our destinations (about 45 mins to Pier 1) each day or catch a bus.
The hotel offered afternoon wine and cheese which was nice as a respite from sight seeing if we were around. Breakfast was simple but fine for a coffee and pastry. As we weren't expecting breakfast this was a bonus.
The hotel is on the edge of Tenderloin (a very much less desirable area) but this did not impact our stay.

We couldn’t even check in our experience was so bad. Location felt unsafe from the beginning. We waited for valley for 15 minutes I went in and was told to go out and someone should be there. The lobby looked dingy and smelled. Even so I sat in my care with my young kids and senior parents about 15 minutes and we decided to just leave. It was awful.

Not a family friendly neighbor. Too many unhoused people.

Came with a family of seven stayed in the main suite it is the perfect amount of beds and window seals. The kids love the room and there’s a kitchen. There are two small markets across the street and plenty of food options around. Staff was very friendly. really Beautiful old historical hotel. They have a small continental breakfast and a, small wine bar from four until 6 PM

GREAT location during the day. You need to valet, which is fine. Main front desk person is very helpful and kind. Housekeeping was very kind. Room was much larger than expected. Pretty dated, but great for a family. More like an apartment than a hotel. We enjoyed the art and architecture of the hotel itself.

I liked the hotel and will stay again. I wouldn’t bring a family w kids, but for a budget friendly option within a close taxi to Moscone it works. It is quite dated, but all of the fixtures and accommodations are very clean and tidy. The bed was very, very comfortable and slept great aside from the city noise that you get outside. I felt like I was stepping back into the 1970s or 80s which I kind of enjoyed. The TV is low, resolution and old tech, but who cares? But like I said, everything was well-maintained and enjoyable overall.

I knew this before booking. The location is in the outskirts or next neighborhood of Tenderloin. There is no doubts of safety, this was in a safe place and safe neighborhood. It had what I needed, 3 queen beds for a family of 4. The price was VERY reasonable. The building was gorgeous. The staff was pleasant. The morning breakfast and the afternoon tea was OH SO NICE! The hotel was clean, and beds were comfy! So, we had safety, cleanliness, nice staff, comfort, space. What else do you need? Sleep. Its very noisy at night. This is NO fault of the hotel. The firetrucks run seemingly all night, the people shouting walking in the streets, the dogs barking and fighting all lead to rougher sleeps. This hotel anywhere else would be $1,000 a night. I still recommend this hotel, with the great staff, good service and nice building. I got what I paid for.

I liked the vintage style..
We booked the family suite for 4 and we were impressed. Our room was spacious. It was actually a small one bedroom apartment with three queen-size beds, living room, dining area and full kitchen with all cooking sets, full size fridge, microwave, stove and traditional oven. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, bidet and a large bath tub. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Apart from the street noise, I would have stayed in the room the whole day.
