Hampton Inn & Suites Imperial Beach San Diego

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff very accommodating. It was a convenient location for us to visit family and also for sightseeing. We were able to walk to shopping and dining.

I gave one star to eco friendliness because it's a bum concept right out of the gate. Nobody gives a an eff, really. Otherwise, the shower was nice and hot, no cold surprises for as long as I was in there (a good 30-45 min) it was designed well too! Bed was sufficiently comfortable and roomy. TV seemed to work just fine, although I wasn't watching much TV. Spacious room. Definitely could fit two adults comfortably with enough moving around space. Maybe one bigger kid or two smaller children as well (a tu gusto). Asked for a room close to an exit and it was granted no fuss, no muss. Multiple key card entrances so approaching the property from the north (think silver strand side of IB) a key card will get you inside without having to, say, haul multiple people through the lobby. Reception and service had to be my favorite. Checking in and out with via a machine or kiosk might sound user friendly, but nothing can beat the attention and detail of a well oiled staff who really seem to enjoy their job. I'll keep coming back as long as the staff are up to this level of par/performance. 10 star staff.

I usually stay at this location because it’s close to family, this time we encountered a few issues. 1. The bed smelled dirty, like drool. 2. There were hairs found all around the shower and on top of the shampoo/shower gel. 3. When going for breakfast, it was closed 45 minutes after the “open” time. When asked the status the front clerk said a few more minutes.

My dtsy was wonderful. Starting with the front desk staff. Very friendly and professional. The rooms were clean. No smell of mildew or mugginess. Bathrooms very clean. Hallways and elevators vacuumed. I stayed for a week. Never saw a piece of paper on the floor. Breakfast was delish. Friendly staff all through out. Plus it is close to everything. Walking distance to a grocery outlet snd CVS. 5+ stars. I will recommend this hotel to my family snd friends

My family and I enjoyed the cleanliness throughout the building including the elevator! Breakfast was great and the room was bright and spacious! The only thing I would recommend is building a wall on the back of the building to block public entrance/access to come in directly to the pool gate/entrance. When my daughter and I went through the building exit door to go to the pool gate entrance, we realized to the left there was a gap on the brick wall that surrounded the pool gate allowing direct public entrance. Other than that, highly recommend it! Staff was also great! Requests were quickly addressed. They were also very attentive to guest needs during breakfast.

Our stay was super smooth. The staff was really responsive to our needs, the pool was great for the kids. Breakfast was served daily and had a great selection. It was close to the beach as well. Parking was free which is a plus for sure.

Always stay here just a cleaner environment and worth the money paid for , I go down every year with my kids and stay here because all other places aren’t the best when you travel with children. This hotel is nice and their breakfast is decent.

its clean and nice, my kids love the warm water pool. there are different food around the location, our family really enjoyed the stay here.

I have to say the best thing about my stay was the staff, they went above and beyond to make my family and I feel comfortable. We had a small issue with another hotel guest “EK” which I have never experienced before, I appreciate everything they did, nice clean rooms, comfortable beds, would highly recommend.

We had to stay in a hotel for over three months due to construction at our home. Out of the the three hotels we used this was by FAR the best. The hotel is fairly new construction and maintained well. The entire staff takes pride in their work and it reflects in the level of care of both the property and guests. Sandra, Serenity, Mia and Yasley were all OUTSTANDING hosts. Sandra was especially helpful with reservations as we had to extend every few weeks or so not knowing when we would be checking out. The level of cleanliness is outstanding. Maid service is every four days or sooner if requested. Beds are comfortable. Nice little heated pool and gas fire pit bbq area outside. The outdoor bbq in the back of the hotel is available for guest use and wonderfully convenient for longer stays. There is a hot breakfast every morning included in the price. It's close to some other shops and basic restaurants (the little Italian place next door, Balsamico, offers a discount to guests--fabulous food)--and even the clientele is friendly! It's mostly business people and with a few families now and then. The bar downstairs is a friendly spot at night with low-key guests and drink specials. We often played cards there and had a drink at night. The ONLY complaint we had is: the TV channels don't match what is being broadcast--weird. But this is almost not even worth mentioning. Overall one of the best, small/med size & price hotel experiences I've ever had.
