Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge

This is an older hotel that is being taken care of very well. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. It's right across the street from Carlsbad State Beach and the breakfast room overlooks that. The ladies overseeing the complementary hot breakfast did an excellent job. We had an emergency next day delivery by UPS on Saturday morning and the front desk clerk called us as soon as it came in. It's refreshing when things happen just the way they should and believe me (I travel a lot) that doesn't always happen. Everybody was polite and helpful. Be advised that there is limited parking and they charge $18/night for on property parking. That said we parked on the side street within eyesight of our car for free. Near the beach these side streets fill up during the day but at night there wasn't any problem finding a spot. Right across the street was a little lunch spot called Harbor Beach Cafe with good clam chowder and Shrimp Louis Salad (best quality shrimp and dressing we encountered on our trip). A little pricy but remember all that maintenance and cleanliness isn't free. Lots of families with small children stayed there. This village is within walking distance .

Location is great. Friendly and accommodating staff. Older property that is small and rather outdated but clean and maintained. Loud guests, door slamming and crying kids at the pool were my biggest complaints and apparently impossible to avoid. Recommend upper floors as far away from pool as possible.

Our family had an amazing summer getaway. We enjoyed the pool onsite, breakfast, fire pit, laundry service, beach views and beach access. Restaurants are at a walking distance that we didn’t move our car once. The staff was amazing and friendly. The site was a secured located and felt safe at all times. We look forward to booking next time.

Great place to stay with family, easy walk to beach, to eat, and to train station.

Very friendly front desk staff helpful with suggestions on places to go love that we could borrow chairs sand toys towels and boogie boards to use at the beach across the street short walk to downtown restaurants and the beach very nice hotel would definitely come back.! Fantastic stay, very nice breakfast, very family friendly. The view of the ocean from the front balcony was great.

My friend and I decided to take a ladies overnight trip to Carlsbad for a change of scenery and some girl time without the husbands. This place is fantastic! Location is perfect for walking all of downtown Carlsbad. Great time of year (April) because not too touristy and did not need reservations at restaurants (264 for dinner and Bluewater Grill for lunch). We happened to be there on a Wednesday which is the Carlsbad Farmers Market. Plenty of food stalls if you don't want to do a restaurant. I would highly recommend this property for groups, couples, friends, families. Beach access right across the street and stroller friendly.

The hotel room had extremely loud plumbing valves surrounded by it. This caused me and my husband to wake up all throughout the night. When we brought it to the staff’s attention, they said it would be fixed in the morning. (Never got fixed). Complained the next day at check out and provided videos of the noise. She said she would have the supervisor call me, and that never happened. Waste of money in my opinion. Also the bathrooms are so small you have to tuck yourself in a corner to close the door. I will be sure my family and I never stay here again.

Great location for local food and the beach. We enjoyed our stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the breakfast provided a variety for our entire family.

Loved staying here with my family. We had everything we needed and the beach access was beyond perfect. The hotel even provides breach chairs/boogie boards etc. The kids and adults found breakfast each morning to be exactly what we needed. The staff was super friendly and kind. We will totally stay here again!
