Pacific Gardens Inn was lovely! We had plenty of room in the family suite, and it was nice to have the kitchenette. The make-your-own waffle breakfast was fun, and the happy hour wine was a nice touch as well. We enjoyed using the hot tub in the chilly evening. Easy walk/drive to the coastline and also easy drive to Cannery Row and downtown Monterey.

It was a relief to find a property that allowed our dog to stay! The complementary waffle bar at breakfast was a nice touch. Hotel housekeeping was wonderful. Unfortunately, we saw signs that the property is in need of pest control. In our brief stay, we saw ants in the kitchenette, a baby cockroach on my BF’s toothbrush in the bathroom, and small, black insect parts on the sheets that made me fearful of a bedbug situation. The outdated design and decor was not a problem for us, but the insect activity was.

Overpriced. Stayed here as a kid with my parents and wow 20 years and nothings new. Need to update rooms, furniture and towels seemed to be the same age as the hotel. Not worth the price

This is one of those special hotels. The whole experience is nice. It’s not trying to be upscale, but everything is an upgrade from the budget places on Munras. The fireplaces, the breakfast and happy hour wine, and the short walk to the beach right across the street. Even the basic room is spacious. It feels like you’re in nature, but you’re only a few minutes from Cannery Row. Most of all it’s the staff. When my child had a medical emergency, the staff made me feel cared about. This is my new go-to hotel.

The hotel has an excellent location. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and even has popcorn popper. The room itself is a bit outdated but complete with fireplace, tv and dvd player. The continental breakfast has a wide pastry variety and even waffle maker. However, my family missed out on the evening reception as we arrived late, like 15 min to ending (5-7pm). Wine was still available though.

Cute little inn right by the Asilomar conference grounds. Stayed here while getting scuba certification. It was quaint and cozy. Our room had a fireplace and there are a set of hot tubs you can chill in the facility as well (which I used after a couple of freezing cold dives in Monterey Bay).
Best part -- dog friendly!
Our favorite part is that the Inn is a 5 minute walk from Asilomar state beach. We went every day out there to walk on boardwalk or go to the beach with our dog and kiddos.

This is an older property in a fantastic location. The owner was very kind and accommodating. Over this past pandemic year, it must be tough to keep an inn open and make a profit. A "take-out" continental breakfast is offered of either a bagel, Belgium waffle, or muffin with banana & hot beverage. He was very insistent that guests wore their mask at all times, and only one person/family was allowed in the breakfast take-out area at a time. His behavior was focused on overseeing that each person made their choice, what they should do first (make waffle or toast bagel), that they didn't touch other items, and where things were. A bit involved, but under the circumstances, what the heck.
