Hotel is under construction. no one informed us when choosing a hotel. there was no pool, no spa, no restaurant, no valet.. horrible and embarrassing. i chose this place for 3 other families for our family funeral service.

Our family stay at the hotel was great we only stayed one night so we didn't have time to check out all the great things they offer.

The property itself is excellent. The restaurants are very good, but all of them close before 10 pm and room service ends at 945. So, you have to go out and get food. The area nearby we found out is not the greatest at night when you have children with you. Great clubs and restaurants. But, alot of shady characters around. The pool is very clean and no one was there so the kids had fun. Great views of the surrounding area. Staff was good but not to knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Overall great experience. Would definitely be back.

My stay was only 1 night, to join my family for the burial at sea of our beloved parents.
The moment I told Lila at the front desk, she extended herself with great compassion. I received an exceptionally quiet, private room at the end of the corridor on the 10th floor. Exactly the space I needed to mourn.
My dinner room service, though a limited menu, was delicious and quick. You can't ask for more.
The hotel has a $38/day parking fee, and $15 internet fee. However, joining the Bon Marriott program reduced the internet fee to zero.
During a very difficult time in my life, the Renaissance Hotel Long Beach was just the comfort I needed.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean. And even though it had carpeting, the carpet was clean and had no ancient hotel smells. Bed was quite comfortable and bathroom facilities were very clean, spotless in fact.
Several quality restaurants are literally a three minute walk from the front door of the hotel. We ate at Sevilla, traditional Spanish tapas and paella. And it was delicious. All the restaurants were busy, but also had fast seating, and walking along the streets noticing what people were eating, everything looked fresh and delicious. It seems to be a hotspot for great food and drinks.
It's also walking distance to the Queen Mary, Terrace Theatre, and the Arena.
The pool is quite small often filled with families and children, so it seems like a friendly environment, though not a lap pool. More of a plunge pool. Hot tub was small and crowded at night.
Major demerits - there was no espresso machine on site, and they only serve Starbucks drip coffee. I had to take a walk in the neighborhood to get decent coffee. Which I did find at the Westin hotel which was a five minute walk away. There are other Coffee houses in the area, but they were a little further away and I didn't have the time to get to them. So while it was nice to have a morning walk, I still would've preferred that the hotel offer proper espresso coffee with a proper espresso machine on premises.

Unfortunately the elevator to the garage was not working. We walked the ramps at the suggestion of the staff as there were no stairs nearby. With two kids in tow, it took a little longer to leave than expected and we missed our ferry.

We booked two rooms with two doubles, once we arrived staff at check-in said they only had one room with doubles available and for a charge could put me in a king with a roll away for the second room I booked that they didn’t have. Tv didn’t work, wasn’t a fun with young kids. Reported issue, the indicated there wasn’t an engineer on site, following day issue still wasn’t resolved.
