Great for family visit for Berkeley. Clean, quiet, and convenient location. Restaurant was a little pricy, but food was good.

We ended up here because of an issue with the VRBO we had actually booked. Traveling with kids and pets often makes having an apartment easier than a hotel but the Claremont was very nice to both our kid and our dog and it was a very smooth visit that we all loved. Truly special place.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The problem started at check-in (it's supposed to be at 4 pm). We arrived at 6:30, and our room was not ready. I booked a room with two queen beds and a bay view. The front desk informed me that they "upgraded" us to a junior suite without a bay view and a king-size bed. When I asked for the room I booked on Hotels.com, they said they were full and couldn't accommodate me.

The staff was great and accommodating. The facility is just amazing, full of art and very inviting. We're local and were only there a day with relatives on a stopover to a vacation in Alaska (handy because they were flying in and out of Oakland Airport) and they loved it. The only negative thing was that the pool was crowded with kids on Sunday afternoon. Monday was great with just some Club members there and sunshine. Thanks, Claremont!

the location is great for resort. it has all the good facilities such as large swimming pools for family travel. staffs are very nice and helpful and the restaurant is good.

My daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren (8,10) have stayed at the Claremont each time they’ve come to Berkeley from Spoken. This time the were “wowed” by the spacious Jr. Suite I booked for them. And the marble-floored bathroom! Kiddos swam morning & night; family hit tennis balls for an hour with loaner gear; hotel staff were gracious & helpful. Fabulous get-away! Five Star!

I've stayed at this hotel before and was very pleased. This time, it seemed a little tired. Our room wasn't the cleanest, and when we asked for extra bedding for my kid sleeping on the sleeper-sofa, they brought only a single blanket. It was a let-down after such a great first experience.

An excellent choice if needing to be in Berkeley. However they have a new strict policy re: the use of their swimming pool etc. If u r not a registered guest u can't use it. So if u r visiting children who attend school in the area which is common, they r not admitted to pool area.. So if u want to hang out- u better add them to your room reservation Ridiculous for a Fairmont Hotel stay.
