Our stay at The Admiral was absolutely amazing! The hotel is still undergoing some renovations but our room was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the room was filled with beautiful art. We had an amazing view of downtown Mobile. The common area spaces are also well designed with cool art. The hotel is walking distance to some great restaurants as well. We stayed with our two young kids and it was perfect.

The Admiral is a beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown. It's within easy walking distance of most of the attractions. The beds were super comfortable and the room was large. We traveled with a family of 4, including 2 older daughters. The room would have been perfect for a single adult or couple. However, it was not designed for a family. The bathroom had a sliding door, which offered only visual privacy. Also, the closet and the bathroom were both behind the sliding door, so the only mirrors in the room were both in the bathroom area. No one else could do hair / make-up if someone needed privacy in the bathroom.
Breakfast was delicious and the service (restaurant, front desk, valet, and cleaning staff) was awesome all the way around. The hotel could use a remodel as some of the wallpaper, public are furniture and carpets looked a little tired. Overall, I would stay here again, especially if I was by myself or traveling as a couple.

Another great stay. If you’re traveling with kids, there suites are a great option.

The pictures seem very deceiving. The floors in the room left my girls feet black. The walls are very thin! A lot of the doors on our floor would slam shut wake you up. Staff was amazing though! Super friendly and helpful bathroom was updated but small ( when traveling with children) we didn’t eat at the hotel bc they didn’t have any kid friendly food but for just adults I’m sure it would be great!

The style of the hotel is very unique, reminds you of maybe like the great gasby era. I like that the pool area has fake grass around it instead of concrete, this is great for smaller children but I worry about the cleanliness.

When visiting family I love to stay at the Admiral. The check-in was nice and smooth. The lady was nice and professional. However, the room was a little dirty. I had to wipe off the desk and ice bucket before I could make use of them. The bed was comfortable. I noticed some paper, and other trash under the chair in the room.

When we arrived last week upon check in there were three guys working the front counter. Two were laughing and giggling at something on one of their phones. They were all talking amongst themselves which seems rude. We were told to park in a parking garage.. which is fine normally but we had to bring all of our stuff four flights away and around the corner just to get back into the hotel or pay valet $25/day. We were also charged $50/day for something like incidentals. It did come back on my card after we checked out. But that seemed like a lot of money up front that I wasn’t expecting. We were also told the restaurants were closed due to covid/no room service/no maid service/pool had a sign up sheet. We understood that they can only do so much bc of covid. But I had called about a week before asking if there were any travel restrictions or anything I needed to know bc of covid and it wasn’t mentioned. So basically we were on our own. Our room was gross after a few days bc we had our kids with us, not exactly a vaca experience. Plus the beds were not comfortable at all and the lobby down by the garage opening door has a weird musky/moldy smell. Multiple times we walked in there were some of the guys that work the front desk sitting in the lobby on their phones / never looking up to great u at all. It just seemed off. We’ve traveled all of the world but I wouldn’t stay here again. It was just a disappointment all the way around, we even left a day early and still paid.

The parking situation is less than desirable. The double beds vs queen was not great. We had a bed with a sunken in area. We didnt notice until trying to figure out why we were so uncomfortable. They did give us another room with a king bed and roll in twin for our child. The restaurant was so so on service. They staff was all friendly. The feel of the hotel as you walk in was nice. We would have liked a continental breakfast option. I believe we will try a different place if we need to go back.

The staff was very helpful during the quarantine difficulty. Though all parts of the hotel was not open, they did a great job in accommodating our family. It is on a busy street and traffic is sometimes an issue.
