Check in was fast and easy . The parking lot was littered w/ shipping crates but didn’t see any renovations occurring . Pool was closed for maintenance the 4 days we were there w/o any visible maintenance happening. The halls were dirty w/ scraps of debris etc , a splatt of something on the elevator floor was there for a couple days , ice machine on our floor wasn’t working .never saw any housekeeping. This appears to be a family owned hotel . Feel like they really need to invest more in staffing and the hotel itself

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We had to change rooms several times. The first room smelt like dog urine. The second room had bugs all over the curtains and window (INSIDE THE ROOM) !!! The third room the heater/AC unit didn’t work and it was freezing. But worst of all there was a brown crusty spot on the sheet. It was not a stain! It was crusty!! They didn’t wash the sheets and bedding!!!!!!!!! I am horrified. I am 34 and I have stayed in many hotels and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only good thing about this hotel is the front desk staff. They were very nice. I wish I could get my money back though. I didn’t sleep at all. I was busy trying to keep my kid warm and away from the filth. I have pictures of the bedding with the crusty brown spot and the bugs.

Where to start? How about the girl at the front desk not even having a pen for me to sign in. Had to go search to find one. One of the elevators is unsafe and it shakes violently and makes terrible noises so bad I thought we were gonna be stuck in it. My child was so scared he wanted to take the stairs. The carpet coming in the side door was loose and I almost tripped on it. Wallpaper coming off everywhere. Dirty water from shower. Mildew in bathroom grout. Balcony glass doors so foggy you can’t see out of them. The place is a wreck and needs to be shut down and completely renovated. I don’t ever write reviews but this place is a freaking dump. One of our beds was visibly leaning to one side. I can’t believe it is even passing inspections.

One of the best hotels that my family and I have stayed at. I came to this hotel en route to South Carolina, and let's just say that I am glad we selected a good hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Birmingham for a few nights.

2nd stay there...awesome just like 1st trip there. If ever get to Birmingham again definitely know where to stay. Best part id aspect of being pet friendly. Only part that was even though pet friendly the fee is little high but understand considering cleaning up after pets or if there is damage. I hope that my furbaby wasn't too messy. She was pretty tuckered out...lol. She does have some decent manners so she is usually on her best behavior. Definitely awesome stay!!!

My family was heading to Panama and last minute booked Sonesta. We was so satisfied with the cleanliness, friendliness, and overall atmosphere of the hotel! It’s updated and was beautiful. The room was nice and comfortable as well. The only thing we disliked was the indoor pool was not warm and we didn’t swim long.

Clean but not very well appointed. One of the less impressive complimentary breakfasts I've seen. Wouldn't recommend for business or long stays, but it was fine for a couple nights for a family not spending much time in the room.
