Hotel room fine and reception staff gave me slightly earlier check in.
Bar staff and security were absolutely appalling! We had a wedding party with everyone having a booked room for 1, 2 or 3 nights stay. Security told us we were not allowed to use the hotel bar and wanted us to leave, they caused stress and upset to the bride and groom and other members of family. After 1+ hour of being told we had to leave and being spoken to like dirt with no explanation as to why, after speaking to hotel manager we were allowed to stay all the while getting hostile attitude from security at the hotel. Would never stay here again based on this experience.

Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Cardiff. On arrival we were given the option of some discounted up grades, to which we upgraded to a junior suite with a balcony. This included an all inclusive mini bar. The mini bar was a little disappointing, however the room was beautiful, clean and there was an array of Elemis toiletries.
We would have liked to experience the spa facilities however these were quite an expensive additional cost which is disappointing.
The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was however disappointing, the produce quality felt cheap , there was limited availability and the pastries were dry and stale.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Overall we concluded it’s a lovely hotel with lots of potential to improve, but not worth the expensive price tag.

I stayed there with 2 kids for two nights. The staff there are very friendly and nice. Just the room face to main street you can hear some noises from the bar & pubs on the street downstairs but it is acceptable, not very disturbed.

Really impressive, and enjoyed our stay. Staff very polite and helpful. Only downside, if a junior suite is booked we would expect access to spa area, not be charged extra.

This is a beautiful property and is great for larger families that want to be in the same suite.

BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE PARKING ARRANGEMENT HERE!
There is no onsite parking and on the hotel's website it tells of a special parking code that you can use at the NCP car park next door. However this is a code that gives you a rate of £14 for 24 hours but what that also means is that if you overstayed by just minutes (in our case 25 mins) you will get charged for a full 24 hour period!!! We only parked for 12 hours and 25 minutes, and got charged for TWO FULL DAYS.
Really horrible "offer" to catch people out! BEWARE!
The room itself was OK, not worth the 250 quid in my opinion. We had afternoon tea at the hotel too but it was OK, the cakes were really pretty but were overly sweet, the scones were nice though. The experience was not great however as there was a strong smell of body odour in the lounge for some reason and they spilled prosecco and water on me whilst serving and dropped a couple of glasses on the floor very close to my 7 year old kid. I know it probably was just unlucky day for the waitress but still... I did observe the management reaction after the incident, they did move us to another table but it took them almost 30 minutes before they actually went and clean up the broken glass.
Anyway we had dinner at the sorting room restaurant as well, but the food was a little underwhelming. All in all, I think the hotel was OK, Cardiff was not that exciting also, I would have rather spent the money 250-350 quid we spent this weekend on a trip to somewhere else.

Beautiful hotel. Stayed as a family with a 1 & 7 year old. We got upgraded for free once we arrived to the most amazing room. It was so spacious, and really clean, which is brilliant when you have a little baby walking. There was a separate room with lovely bunk beds for our oldest, it even come with a night light (that little attention to detail of a night night I love, makes it suited to kids)
The customer service was brilliant, everyone interacted with my children. Then to top it off the breakfast was amazing! The next time we’re in Cardiff I won’t bother looking for anywhere else, this is always my go to hotel without a doubt.
