The hotel itself was standard and the room we had was clean. The staff were pleasant. The breakfast included was a decent spread of hot and cold options. Limited space for dining, so try and get there early to beat the rush. I chose this hotel because it seemed to be roughly 15-20 minutes walking from the major attractions. It is, but Edinburgh is a city on a hill. This hotel seemed uphill from the palace, but downhill from the majority of the Royal Mile and the castle. It's not that bad, and we had small children, but something to consider for your travel plans. (Start uphill and work your way down.). We were pleased to have stayed here and would consider it again if we revisit.

The room is fine. The bathroom is very small for a family room. At check-in we paid for hotel parking, but they didn't give us the code for the lot. We had to drive around again to be able to get in to the hotel. The manager was snippy with his colleague who was helping me. A man dropped off an item for an employee; the manager didn't know the name and became very terse with the man when he learned the employee was a cleaner. Lots of little inconveniences and disappointments.

Great location, fold out sofa bed was very small and our 10 and 13 year old were very cramped on it. Suggest getting two rooms if travelling with kids as a t was pretty cramped. Great breakfast

The room was a bit tight, and the elevators were kind of a circus. We liked the location, but the breakfast was a zoo; even though the food was ok, the experience wasn't great. I know they do warn you about this, however traveling with a toddler does limit our time options and breakfast was only til 10:30 on weekdays. No idea where the parking was, but it wasn't out front which made for a bit of a scramble. But the staff were nice, even if they only refilled our coffee with decaf.

The hotel was lovely and clean. The staff were friendly and there were plenty of options for breakfast. We were able to park easily, despite the carpark only having 7 spaces and the hotel is situated nicely. The only downside was that the hotel didn't have a restaurant, so we wete unable to order food in the evening, when the kids were too tired to go back out.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Very close to the train station. The staffs were great and friendly. We were a family of four. The room had a queen bed a twin sofa bed but the twin sofa bed was rather small. So it wasnt very comfortable for the kids.
The rooms weren't made till 3pm. We had to call to request even though we hung the housekeeping tag outside our room door. Waterbottles were only given on the 1st day of our stay. Rest of the 3 days we werent given any bottles of water nor were the tea or coffee topped up.
On the 2nd day only 2 towels were given. I had to call in at 8pm to inform we are a family of four and needed 4 towels. Receptionist actually told us to get down to the reception to get it. That was very disappointing.
Breakfast was very basic. Definitely not the best.
Otherwise hotel was clean and accessible.

The quality of the property is unfortunately not great for the cost. We were staying for just 1 night and had a family room, which was not great. The beds are not very comfortable and the room whilst clean was quite tired looking (tiled ceiling, worn carpets). There is no safe (as advertised on Expedia) or fridge or wardrobe, which you would expect as standard for the cost. Overall quite disappointed given the other reviews. Maybe we were unlucky with our room or should have adjusted our expectations.
On positive side, the breakfast was handy and prett good for a basic self service. It is also very good location for all the main sights and Waverley station, everything within walking distance.

The Holiday Inn Dublin is right at the city center so very convenient for shopping, dinning, and transit. However, the rooms are so small that we had to take out some furniture to fit a family of 4. The rooms are very outdated. For the price, I would book the Courtyard by Marriott down the street.
