Everything went smoothly and the rooms are spacious. For our family, including 2 kids and 2 people over 70, the walk to Edinburgh Castle was only 15 to 20 minutes. We had a great time and will definitely recommend to friends.

Arrived at advertised check in time and was told our room would not be ready for an hour. As we we’re heading to a family event and on a tight schedule we had to accept a smaller room and a smaller bed, the room was over looking the main road and road building works. The following day our room was not been cleaned when we returned in the evening. In the night we were awoken several times by people leaving a nearby night club. Next morning we informed reception that the room had not been cleaned and It was eventually cleaned but not until after 4pm. A really disappointing and unpleasant stay. No compensation - not even so much as a complimentary drink was offered - for effectively down grading our room.

We had a lovely stay in a "family suite" (a standard room in the U.S. except with full beds instead of queens). Great things about our room include: ➡️ Beautiful 10 ft. ceilings ➡️ A massive, recently remodeled bathroom w/ plenty of storage space for 3 people's toiletries ➡️ Plenty of outlets for charging phones and tablets ➡️ A safe to store those extra electronics while sightseeing ➡️ Plenty of instant coffee & hot chocolate plus tea, shortbread & a kettle to help you warm up after attending a late night event on nearby Calton hill Nice things about the hotel location include: ➡️ Close to a small mall (with many food options) & public transportation ➡️ Just around the corner from Calton hill ➡️ Walking distance to plenty of cool places for tourists, though some are a 20-30 minute walk (Edinburgh Castle, The Witchery, the Witches Memorial, etc.) Things that might be an issue for some travelers: ➡️ The hotel does not appear to have an accessible entrance. The front door has a few small steps, and staff didn't readily inform us of any other option ➡️ There is parking, but you have to arrange it ahead of your stay (use a QR & discount code) to keep it kind of reasonable, but if you book here, none of that info is provided before your stay. You can still park, but it'll be 22£ per day. ➡️ Hotel says you can park in front & drop off luggage, but the area is so busy we didn't feel comfortable doing that. So we had to drag bags through the garage & 2 blocks down the street.

The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and professional to the highest standard. Hotel was immaculate. They give you a discount code to use at the Q park. Location was perfect for the playhouse theatre, restraunts, shopping and site seeing. Breakfast was delicious, top quilty, lots of it and the service was outstanding. We would use the hotel again and definitely recommend it to family and friends.
