Very convenient location right next to the train station and as others have mentioned, the lobby, bar and restaurant area are very nicely presented. However, the layout of our "family" room was very odd - two huge beds right next to each other seems an odd configuration? Aside from the fact that the room wasn't big enough to accommodate two beds of this size, I don't particularly want my kids sleeping right on top of me! Another minor irritation was that housekeeping repeatedly left only two towels for us. But, more disappointing was the bar service. With small kids, we tend to book hotels on the basis of them having decent bars/restaurants as we obviously can't venture out once the kids are asleep. We stayed three nights and on two of those nights, quite a few options on the drinks menu (no draught beer and several wines) were not available. On one occasion when we ordered cocktails, the bar staff seemed unsure of how to make them (and the resulting drinks were not very good). So very much a case of style over substance. One other minor point: I don't think it would be asking too much to have some nuts (or something similar) available at the bar. It's a bit unreasonable to expect people to order from the dinner menu if they just want a little snack to go with their drinks. We did order some appetisers from the menu on our first night and they were nothing to write home about, so we weren't terribly keen on doing the same on subsequent nights.

The hotel has had a great refurb and the family room we stayed in was great. All staff at the property were lovely and friendly, but the bar and restaurant just seemed a little unorganised and seemed unaware of items on the bar menu.

Lovely hotel for New Year’s Eve, to meet family & friends. Was a little annoyed by the doorman to our hotel bar trying to convince us it is really busy bar with a 20 min wait at the bar. Which we promptly replied that we are hotel guests and that we are meeting friends in the bar especially for our planned night ! And for him to continue to try and talk us out of not using the bar despite our full rights explained to him that we can rightfully use the bar, was a bit frustrating and didn’t start our night on the best foot on news year Eve. Co-incidentally we were served within 5 mins and our guests we were meeting who were also hotel patrons, said they were served promptly and they could see that the door staff were not letting us in, and nearly came over to see what the issue was. Anyhow lovely hotel and will return.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was lovely. The room was large, and amenities were nice - complimentary wine & beer, coffee & a few snacks. I think our biggest issue was the bathroom - while it was large, the towels were small & rough, the heated towel rack didn't work, the toilet didn't have an actual toilet seat (just the base & a lid) & the amenities were super tiny. The shower itself was fine but the floor was old & stained. And we had a family room, booked for 3 people & discovered when we went to turn the sofa into a bed that we'd been left no linens (or towels) for our daughter. The staff was nice & quickly brought them, but at 1130 pm, it's a bit of an inconvenience to have to wait for awhile. For such a beautiful hotel, these little things were surprising. However - for the price? It was a decent stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Queens. Our family room was huge with two double beds and was extremely comfortable. The decor of the room and entire hotel was beautiful and it smelled amazing!! A fantastic added bonus was the free drinks in the minibar which was a lovely surprise. We will definitely be returning.

I cannot fault this hotel, absolutely amazing. We had a deluxe family room, myself and daughter and friend and daughter age 15 and 18, the room was big, very clean and the beds were one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Loved everything about this hotel will definitely return

Overall we had a great stay in a spacious family room. The hotel was in the perfect location for accessing the city but also be really handy for the train station. Our main complaint was the lift which was really busy in the morning. We often got stuck on our floor unable to get in any lift that came as they were full from picking up guests from all the floors above us. We were travelling with our toddler and pushchair which meant taking the stairs was not an easy option.

This hotel is an old beautiful historical building. Amazing interior. The best reception and concierge team I have ever encountered, they could not be anymore welcoming, helpful or cheery. Excellent front of house. The family deluxe room was way bigger than any family room we have ever encountered. Two king size beds, lots of room and a large bathroom. The room was clean and well presented. The breakfast team were very efficient and friendly. Nothing was too much to ask of them, so attentive. High quality breakfast. Overall an excellent experience and I will certainly return when I next visit Leeds.

The Queens Hotel is a beautiful and accommodating place to stay. Unfortunately, there is road construction currently occurring in the front of the hotel and on several streets nearby. This makes it difficult for taxis and cars to pickup and drop off people. Also, I recommend the early check in option if traveling internationally. I tried to do this but waited until the day before checking in, which was too late. We were able to leave our bags, but it was hard waiting until 3 as we had a complicated trip and were exhausted. Then at checking time, our room wasn’t ready. I was not happy. They rushed getting our room ready, and it showed. If they had offered us a drink on the house while waiting, it would have helped. I never had this experience before. We made reservations for the Sunday roast and the high tea on another day. It’s not like the photos. No one comes and carves the meat at you table. The roast beef was good but could have been warmer, and we were served vegetables family style - 9 small roasted potatoes and a small serving of carrots. There were three of us. I surprised how few vegetables were given. The service for the high tea was awful and the blaring music from the bar didn’t help. I would not recommend either dining experience. However, the breakfast is good and the service is excellent!
