The hotel is beautiful, with luxury features in the rooms and spa. I had 2 negative takeaways that would stop me from staying again. 1. Unfortunately, the pool - which is where the spa facilities are located - was overrun with children for large parts of the day. Even in the evening, this was the case up until 7pm and the facilities close at 8pm. The adult only outdoor pool closes even earlier ( 7pm ) and it was very full because of the indoor pool crowding / noise. If the spa facilities were separate, it would be fine. But as adults who paid a lot of money to stay in a luxury spa hotel, the spa facilities were nowhere near relaxing enough for the price. The area should be made adults only in the evening, or the opening hours should be extended for those who want to use the facilities without children. 2. The price(s) of drinks and the quality of drinks were not proportionate. Charging £20 for a cocktail is only acceptable if it’s made to a very high quality (and packs a punch). We didn’t feel our cocktails did either of these things. Staff were very friendly but they also repeatedly asked us to order more drinks (twice in 5 minutes from the same waiter on one occasion). This is really off-putting when you’re trying to relax. I think this would be a lovely stay for families who are prepared to spend a lot on food and drink (soft drinks are £5 each). As there are no other restaurants within walking distance, I’d advise others to look at the menu & prices before booking.

Very impressive hotel. Great for families. The hotel had made a huge effort to keep kids entertained for the summer holidays with daily activities (e.g. pony rides / petting farms etc.) provided for free. The facilities are superb. Room sizes very generous and they were easily able to accommodate my wife and me with our 3 children (ages 7, 4 and 2) in a double deluxe room. The only thing which isn’t ideal are the children’s swim times. One slot first thing in the morning (09:30-11:00) isn’t brilliant as it doesn’t really allow for a relaxed breakfast with a sufficient break afterwards before heading for the pool. The afternoon slot (15:30-17:00) is well timed but it gets very busy and there aren’t many loungers / seats available for use if you aren’t in the pool the whole time. Overall though, my wife and I were very impressed. The kids loved it which is the most important thing. Highly recommend. And we will definitely be back in the future.

After our wedding we needed a space to escape the family and enjoy married life in comfort. The fairmont Windsor gave use that escape where we enjoyed luxury service, food and drinks. The spa added another level of comfort and destress. Good price, friendly staff and all the facilities at your finger tips. The sweet shop made a fun addition. We enjoyed learning about the fragrances at Floral and sitting in the tea room. The grounds are superb, clean and easy to navigate.

The place was amazing and we had booked it as we wanted a relaxing weekend away as a family and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had the same young lady, Pardeep Kaur, looking after our table at dinner on a couple of nights at the Moreish restaurant and she was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great time along with her colleagues. The food was beautifully presented and was very tasty. The spa was just what we needed and we got to spend time with the children in the pool as well as some much needed time out in the jacuzzi, steam room and Himalayan salt room after the family sessions were over. The grounds were lovely and the staff were very obliging to our boys and gave them a tour of the grounds in the Rolls Royce buggy, that really made their day. The table tennis in the library was a lovely touch and that’s where the boys spent most of their time. We do think a snooker table would have been great as well. We would definitely visit again.

4 out of 5 stars

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the UK. Interior decor sublime, surrounding park stunning, spa and gym facilities excellent however … it’s a big hotel and there were kids everywhere, in the bar, in the spa (outside children hours), screaming in the restaurant, the staff seemed quite inexperienced to enforce the limited restrictions they have to try to make it relaxing for those without kids expecting a relaxed stay. Additionally the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and they didn’t seemed very well prepared with what to do. It’s got the potential to be great but falling short in a number of areas at present.
