Booked as convenient for visiting family. Very nice staff and room was spotless. I have dust and other allergies so I often have problems with older properties which are usually carpeted and can be dusty - but not here. It was a sudden hot spell so we appreciated having a fan available in the room. The hotel was lovely and it's in nice countryside. The only negative is with the area not the hotel itself. This part of Cheshire is very car-centric with poor public transport and not pedestrian friendly - narrow or no footpaths, which made going for a jog around the area less enjoyable.

Hotel bedroom uncomfortably hot and radiator stuck on max. Booked room for 2adults and 1 child and there was no bed for the child. Reception staff quite curt and said it would cost an additional £30 since they had no knowledge of child. Luckily I had evidence with me and the charge was removed. The lift had a sign saying intermittent fault causing it to get stuck. Not good when on 3rd floor. Not impressed overall.

We booked a junior suite because all other rooms were taken. The suite was spotless clean very big and the bathroom was so large and a pleasure to use. Well done to the housekeeping team. ( A hard job). We had afternoon tea which was lovely but a couple more sandwiches would have been nice. We would like to return.

Absolutely awful place. This is a wedding venue masquerading as a hotel. Our dog passed away on Thursday and we decided to book a night away on Friday to avoid the empty house. We booked a junior suite and when we arrived at the room we found the toilet was unable to be flushed. We reported this and were told maintenance would attend to fix it. We decided to have drinks in the bar whilst maintenance attended, but after an hour we’d still heard nothing. When I approached the lady on reception she advised maintenance had been unable to fix the toilet and as they had no other junior suites available they would need to put us in a double. When I inspected the room it was much smaller, but we were told they were unable to refund the difference in costs and that they would give us use of the junior suite and we would need to use the bathroom in the double (which was on a different floor). We obviously refused this and asked for a full refund so we could find somewhere else to stay, but apparently there was only a duty manager working on a busy Friday night and she wasn’t authorised to issue refunds and could only comp us a round of drinks. After hours spent arguing with the hotel and hotels.com we reluctantly accepted a room of a lower grade and insisted they gave us a bottle of fizz to compensate - even then the manager tried to refuse this and offer us a glass instead. Utterly disgusting behaviour that made a horrible time more awful. The hotel is also in dire need of a refresh.
