This hotel is out of the ordinary it is a very old property that has been made into a hotel The rooms are basic my only complaint is that the double bed was not big enough my husband is 6ft 2 and it was a bit of a squeeze Our evening meal in the 1815 restaurant was excellent and after a few drinks in the wine cellar bar we slept well 😊 I wanted to stay at this hotel because my great grandmother was born in the toll house at the entrance to the estate her father was the gardener for the Tollemache family who owned the castle It has not disappointed.

We stayed at Peckforton Castle for a wedding. Overall we had a lovely time, the room was nice enough and clean, breakfast was good - the wedding was fab. My one complaint was down to accessibility. We had a newborn baby with us and had his pram and it was a nightmare. There is one lift which doesn't link you to all the floors so we ended up carting his pram up and down stairs all the time. I know it's a castle so making it accessible is hard but just as a warning to others. Whilst there are stair lifts I think it would be challenging for those with accessibility issues.
