The room looked as if it was frozen in the 70s…. Very dirty carpet, chair was very dirty, Hair in the bath, I had to tell my children to make sure they are not walking barefoot. It was sooo tiny. We were not informed that if parking in the basement we would be charged !! So were we 12 euros = 20$ Canadian Anyway I just really don’t think it is worth a 4 Star hotel at all, maybe 2.5

The Hotel is very family orientated, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Location is outside town centre and a few stops on metro or 10-15 min by taxi, Ubers are easy to use and relatively cheap in Portugal. There are only 5/6 restaurants within walking distance. The pool is small and hotel is on flightpath of airport nearby. Breakfast has good selection and reasonably priced as kids are free but adults pay more.

If you’re traveling as a family, this is a great place to stay. They have kids activities, a small playground outside, a pool and kiddie pool, video games in the lobby, and overall very accommodating for families.

Booked this hotel for a one night stay as we were flying out home the next morning. At 5am in the morning, we reached the airport in 10 minutes. Comfortable room, kids slept on the pull out sofa, it was clean and service was great. We walked to a mall 10 mins away for dinner. Would be happy to stay here again but not with bigger kids as the pull out bed might be too small and uncomfortable.

No shampoo in bathroom. That’s basic, but minor. But I don’t know if I missed the notice on Expedia about construction. Due to jet lag, my kids and I were still sleeping at 825 AM. I was startled awake by persistent loud squeaking noises. I thought someone upstairs was having “a good time in bed” but alas when it went on for 10 or more minutes and the noises evolved to banging and drilling so loud that I could not bear to be in the room another minute, I got up and left. The staff was nice, they were pleasant at check in and check out. It’s not a reflection on them. I just was not prepared for the construction noise and disruption. I would have gotten a different hotel had I been aware.

AC did not work, it was boiling in the room. Great breakfast selection! no indoor pool for kids. close to metro station but far from downtown

Good stay at novotel. Nothing out of ordinary, good business type hotel although we stayed with little one age there were some video games for younger kids. Staff was good mostly. Property is bit old but we ok for the 4 nights we stayed with sofa bed
