Waldorf Astoria Panama

My family and I--6 people, in total--traveled to Panama City for a week. Here are what I think are the pros and cons to staying here: PROS: (1) The hotel itself is exceptionally clean. From the lobby to the bathrooms to the actual rooms to the pool/spa area to the dining/bar area, all were clean. (2) The hotel staff are what make this hotel stand out. I have traveled all over the world and I have never encountered such KIND, HELPFUL, PLEASANT, KNOWLEDGABLE hotel staff. They always greeted us with a smile and constantly asked how they could help. They also had the best suggestions on where to eat and travel, and were honest. One staff member in particular, Oliver, was one of the best parts of the hotel. He made sure we had everything we needed and was beyond delightful. He needs a raise! (3) The food and drinks were awesome and when they weren't up to our liking, they immediately rectified it. We never felt we were a burden and always felt catered to. (4) Although this hotel is in the business district, it's in close walking distance to the beach/water, restaurants, and many stores. We could just walk outside and get anything we wanted. CONS: (1) They could never get the outdoor spa/jacuzzi to work properly so it wasn't ever hot. (2) We paid a lot for a massage, but it felt like they were rushed and weren't thorough compared to other massages we've received. (3) Maybe a little more variety at the buffet. Overall, an amazing hotel!

I was supposed to stay in a junior suite, but due to limited rooms, we were upgraded to a larger room. The facilities were very comfortable and the breakfast good with many options. The staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel has a good location in the center of Panama city.

For a convenient location, at an amazingly reasonable cost, and a pampered and comfortable stay in Panama City, the Waldorf Astoria is a great option. Perhaps the best reason though, is the professional, thoughtful and extraordinary staff. This is our third or so visit to the Waldorf in the last 3 years and the staff remembers us and greets us as if we are family. Why go anywhere else?
