Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol

A beautiful hotel! The bar was lovely and the restaurant served great food! Table decor or a single rose that measured almost 6 inches wide was fascinating. The room was very large overlooking the landscape in the back of the property and the Dutch Master touches in the room were wonderful! The beds were very comfortable and the room was very quiet. Shuttle was on time and much needed! I enjoyed reading about the Valk family and their hotels. We will definitely look for their hotels as we travel.

Always nice to be back at this hotel, me and my family have been coming for years. Beautiful renovation with new areas and the service continues great although this time with some minor setbacks: At check-in, as a VIP Access guest I did not get either of the perks mentioned, also, the information I got when asking about the indoor pool was incomplete because the towels which should be provided at reception were not mentioned. At 6pm housekeeping staff was gone and front desk staff could not help so I had to cross the hotel to get some fresh bath towels myself (not really a 4 star service) and I found the service in the restaurant very slow this time. Also, I have to mention that the children's menu does not offer any healthier option, some chicken breast, fish or vegetables would have been nice. Still, I will be coming back next time.

Stayed here for one night at the end of a family vacation and it was wonderful. The room was the largest we'd experienced compared to other hotels on our trip. And the bathroom was amazing: the tub and shower were separate, and tub was a huge jacuzzi tub. Fantastic for a relaxing night before our long flight home. Staff was very welcoming and responsive; however, calling from the room to the lobby was confusing. The #0 or other special buttons on the phone didn't work, so I had to get creative and google the hotel phone number to dial it directly. Transportation to the airport was prompt and efficient, in a comfortable coach bus. Great stay, will keep this in mind for our next visit.

The description on Expedia said nothing of the place being under renovation and the pool and wellness center not being usable. Would not have stayed here and definitely would not have paid that much to stay at a place that charges and brags of such amenities. Staff was rude when I questioned why it was not on the site and they said it was. I checked again and showed them. It was not. I got a shoulder shrug like ….. oh well, I’ve got your money. No free coffee or water in lobby. Until the complaint the staff was excellent and they did set up an area for the kids for Easter and that was nice. The property is beautiful and the animals were great. But no pool when you’ve got kids and no spa when your wife is expecting some pampering makes for some long days. There should have been a discount given or a free meal or something for the inconvenience. First bar I’ve ever been to that didn’t know how to make a dirty martini. They won’t let you eat in the bar area either unless you want a fried appetizer. They ended up accommodating us and let us eat our food so I will give the bar keep a thumbs up for that. I would stay here again if everything was as advertised. But it wasn’t and they didn’t care so I won’t.

It was amazing!! This has been my go to hotel for ages! But returning after COVID, the hotel underwent a spectacular renovation and I even booked 3 rooms so some of my friends could join me and have their own room!! I had lunches with family and friends. I had so much fun and so did they!

Promptness and flexibility. Look forward to a family trip

Overall this was a disappointing stay. Check in was fine but the attendant didn't know much about the room when asked. Parking was easy and free. No airconditioning in our room and the tv didn't work. We're arrived at night with kids, got them to sleep and reached for the qr code promising in room dining options only to find there weren't any! Why advertise it if the kitchen is closed at 9pm.
