I reserved two rooms, checked in and walked back to my 3 kids who were waiting in the entrance sofas. Adriana a worker noticed that my kids were not ok, two of them had fever and the other one had a major nose bleed that wouldn’t stop. Adriana suggested that I went right back to the front desk and asked if they could please give priority to just one of the two rooms. She pointed to a man and said “go with him since he is not busy with a guest”. I approached the man, said hello and got as far as to tell him that I had reserved two rooms before he began to lean back and gave me the most disgusted face I’ve ever seen in my life. I asked him if he was ok because he threw me off. He paused for a moment, looked away and proceeded to call the next person in line, then told them to wait a minuted and he walked away. I was just left there standing ignored….I felt horrible and helpless! It had been a long day traveling, and my kids were not physically doing well at that time. I went back to my kids and Andriana asked what happened. I told her and she looked somewhat upset but like she couldn’t do anything. It turns out he is the RECEPTION SUPERVISOR ROGER GAMBOA. The whole day I felt horrible by the rudeness of this man but I had to keep it together because I had my hands full with my 3 sick kids.How can someone like that be a supervisor? Who trains or chooses these people?or should I say some one needs to instruct them how to NOT be nasty with guest! I didn’t deserved to not be heard!

Me and my wife came here for the first time to Cancun, it was an amazing trip, we were given tips on where to go, where to eat and what to see. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and sweet, lots of activities and I loved how family friendly it was. The hotel was much bigger than it shows in pictures l, buffets at night and great iced lattes in the store. Only thing is no pesos are allowed to be payed with so it’s card or room charges. Aside that I would highly recommend to family and friends! The view was stunning all times of the day!

My family and I had such a great time at the Westin resort and spa. Super friendly and helpful staffs that made us feel at home. They were also very quick to respond to whatever issue we had…. We’ll definitely stay at Westin when next we visit again.

My family enjoyed the stay in April 2024 very much. The staff is attentive, the hotel has many good amenities and the beach is wonderful. This being not the first stay at this property and Cancun in general i was unpleasantly surprised by the pricing for food and drink. Simple foods like tacos, pizza and chips for 2 with no alcohol goes to 70 - 80 US dollars at this hotel. This is way too much even for the Unoted Stated.

It is very nice property at start of hotel zone. It is right on beach , clean , good option to eat , friendly staff and bar by the pool . It is slightly aged but manageable. Recommended for families.

This Westin seems to be better for family stays. The rooms were a little worn. The sliding door to the patio kept getting stuck and the fire alarm kept going off while I was trying to rest due to the humidity.
More importantly, I paid for a BALCONY room and the gave us one on the first floor with patio. For the price, I definitely wanted exactly what I paid for.
The beach was nice, the sports bar and concierge were very good and overall, I felt ok about our stay.

Hotel currently is in remodeling and there are a lot of workers around, also lot of dust and machinery.
Climate in the lobby and breakfast area is super cold, we really had to wear long sleeve to support the temperature.
The welcome package was only offered 2 days after checkin. We checked two rooms in the balcony ocean view, it was supposed to be ready no later then 3PM. They did not get in until 5PM and they locate room in different zones. They offered 2 rooms to ocean view but it was to opposite direction of the kukulcan avenue, zona hoteleira (we only could see the end of the beach). We asked to change (we would like to see the other direction of the ocean view, to the Royal beach tower). Then one room was accommodated in the 6th floor and the other in the ground level (like patio).
Pluses:
After change the room had a great view (we had to ask).
The conceirage amenties were nice (breakfast, drinks, etc), but was offered late.
Negatives:
Service was very slow.
There was not interaction to kids and one of the pool was temporarily closed
The climate room could not be set to be warm then most of the time (excluding noon) room was cold.

Location: At the south tip of the hotel zona, from where the beach line starts. You can walk down to the beach by using the steps in the hotel. There is a hotel restaurant facing the beach and the breakfast area is also sea-facing. Reasonably big sized property and plenty of parking underground and in the open.
Speed of checking in was slow, as there were a lot of guests checking in and only 2 front office staff members so took approx 30 mins just to check in
Condition - The property and the room show sign of ageing. The room window had condensation and the aircon in the room was not efficient at all. The bathroom was also not very modern. The hallway carpet was quite old.
Facilities - very well stocked and big sized gym, multiple pools, wave pool, restaurants, tennis court (outdoor), access to beach, souvenir shop, booking desk for daily excursions
Breakfast - very good spread and courteous staff. Make sure you let the staff know in advance if the breakfast is included in the room tariff or not, as they issue a bill to you regardless.
The location is good and feels safe to walk outside the hotel premises, which are secured anyway. The hotel is family-friendly!
We would come back for a stay if we visit Cancun again. Recommended
