Hotel Kavia Plus

This property has no amenities. No hair dryer, iron, or even washcloths in the room. Didn’t have a refrigerator or microwave. Pool was small and the gym was three cardio machines and a weight bench with no weights. This is the loudest hotel I have ever stayed in. The open floor plan means you can hear every door slam, people taking in the hallways, and children screaming or crying on every floor at all hours of the night and day.

This was okay because of the location- I needed to be near downtown. But I’ve gotten an air B and B on the water with a lot more amenities for the same price. It was vey, very loud. Not from the outside. The way the place is built, the acoustics, so every time a door opens I’d closes, kids crying etc. it is amplified. I had to be up fairly early, but was anyway, no alarm needed. Some coming in late and others up early- just was so noisy all the time I was there from 6 pm to 7 am. Bed also fairly hard. Was clean though, had one of these overhead showers, staff was friendly, and nice touch with the candy bowl. I just think it’s the way it’s structured - so bring earplugs and would work okay for a clean pretty inexpensive place to stay.

The walls are so thin in this hotel!! You can hear people talking from down the hall. Non stop kids crying from other rooms, people shouting down the hall to each other constantly, you can hear every footstep walking past your room. There are no windows in your room. The rooms overall are clean and modern. The cleaning staff were friendly. The pool was nice. Elevator works. This is a NO ALCOHOL hotel which sucked having to listen to people talking down the hall and doors slamming constantly… I would have loved a drink in my room. This hotel is a good location and lots of taxis driving by. I felt safe as a solo female traveller in this area. The park behind the hotel is great at night with food trucks and music. Also walking distance to the ADO bus stop. ***on my last night there a car caught fire in the parking garage and the hotel was evacuated while fire trucks arrived. Excellent job to the front desk guy for keeping everything in order and getting people to their new rooms. There was no room available for me but they paid for my taxi to the airport since I was leaving that day anyway. Thank you again to him. Overall the hotel is ok to stay at but you can hear every noise in the hallway.
