Our experience was terrible. We were scammed by the hotel staff. We made a boat tour reservation through the hotel concierge on the first day of our trip, which was supposed to include fishing, snorkeling, and whale watching. We paid $600 for the tour. However, all we got was a fishing trip on an old boat. We got soaked by the waves because the roof of the boat was broken, and there were no life vests for the kids. The concierge had said the license fee was included, but we had to pay $75 each as a license fee when we arrived at the marina. The crew on the boat didn't even know about the snorkeling and whale watching; there were no gears for that at all. Although the crew was nice, we couldn't tip them because we had to pay the unexpected license fee. It felt so bad.The concierge said he would refund part of our purchase, but he didn't respond. When I called from a different number, he answered, saying he was on a business trip and would refund us soon, but that was a lie. Eventually, I filed a dispute with my credit card company and won. By the way, the room was not clean. I found some hairs and a contact lens on the floor. The breakfast was nice.
This was my first trip to Mexico, and this experience severely tarnished reputation of Mexico.

There was a group of college kids partying well into the evening, in the halls of the hotel. No one from the Hotel enforced any sort of curfew or quite time. So for 3 days we weren't able to get to sleep until 2-3am.

What i didnt like which became annoying is the people and children trying to get you to buy something or asking for money. On the boardwalk outside the hotel thats all they did. I liked the place but that alone would make me go elsewhere next trip.

Tesoro is located in the best part of Cabo San Lucas, IMO. It's in a walking area for shops, food, downtown, access to nightlife, and a 7 min uber to the beach. The location is what sold me. The locals are very friendly and you have access to taxis, peditaxis, etc. Also, there's shops within the hotel plaza, including pharmacies, other dining options, etc.
My room--I got a free room upgrade since the room I booked wasn't available. I had a junior suite with views of the marina. The rooms itself needs updating. My ceiling had a leak my last night. The chairs in my balcony were old and stained. My safe stopped working randomly. But...the worst...I found a live roach in my closet the morning I left. The bed was cozy and I enjoyed sleeping. Also, the suite area didn't have a fridge or microwave. Just a mini countertop stove and cabinets.
You will wait 10 mins in line to be checked in/checked out/. The staff in the lobby is friendly. There's a bar that serves average drinks. I found my drink to be too sweet and I got a headache from it. There's an ATM there to pull out cash quickly in local dollars.
The swimming pool is a simple pool. Nothing much. The breakfast staff--the cooks were friendly, but the wait staff wasn't. They also worked in the afternoon, and kept staring at me suspiciously. Maybe because I was solo? I don't know, but they were unfriendly to me.
The spa was amazing, though!
Would I come back? Maybe for the location, spa, and free breakfast.

The hotel did a horrible job keeping the hallways quiet at night with all the teenagers staying there. Also, some of the music lyrics at the pool was very nasty and inappropriate; definitely NOT family friendly.

All in all this is a great hotel! Location is really good. Seriously right in the heart of town. They upgraded us to a master suite which was really nice with an amazing view of the Marina. I wouldn’t recommend if you want somewhere super relaxing and quiet. It isn’t a party hotel but can get loud due to it being in the center of everything. Also, due to it being spring break and an affordable option, you will have college aged kids who are quit loud. The buffet breakfast was really good! They had an omelet bar and on Sundays had Birria tacos and menudo! We had an issue with our mattress smelling a bit off so they literally gave us a new mattress! I think this is a great hotel for your first time in Cabo.

Really enjoyed my stay here. It is walking distance to everything in town, the boardwalk and the harbour. It’s just a few minutes by water taxi to several beaches.
This is not really a hotel for young kids. But if you have older teens, or are travelling as adults, it’s a really good buy, especially if it’s your first time in Cabo. Try to get a room facing the harbor. Security is very tight, so if you plan to have friends from other hotels visit with you, you’ll need to discuss that with the front desk.

I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. They wouldn’t let any of our family members not staying there come up to our room to visit. This is not VIP service and we’re very rude when asked about it

Have stayed here multiple times primarily for the location. Breakfast buffet is good, especially if you get made to order omelets and french toast. Did not get all-inclusive this time. Location is great, very walkable to downtown and marina area. Water pressure in our room was horrible. Staff is fantastic. Great location if you have chartered a deep-sea fishing excursion. Can be noisy in evenings, bring ear plugs, they are not provided. We always book a Jr. Suite and our rooms have always been different. I wish they actually had the same type of rooms for the room type reserved. It has literally ranged from small to gigantic rooms under the same room type. We travel with groups and we all reserve same type of room, yet sometimes we have a room that is tiny and other people get a gigantic room with sofa, coffee table, view of both marina and main street and a balcony that can host 60 people. Not kidding. Totally random. We stay here for the location only and the breakfast is good.
