Holiday Inn Melaka, an IHG Hotel

It's good for business or family trip purpose. It's won't take too much time to walk to the shopping mall neaar by the Holiday Inn Melaka.

The junior staff were friendly anf helpful. There is a night club operating next-door to the holiday Inn which makes alot of noise (drum beats) AFTER midnight. This happened too during my last visit.

Considering the price and quality, I believe this hotel could be the best value for money among hotels in Malacca. Below are bulleted points of what I found. - Easy to take a shower because of strong water pressure. - Clean rooms - Large windows - There were plenty of seats at breakfast, so we didn't have to wait even on a three-day weekend. - Many variety of food at breakfast. - There is a billiard table and you can use it freely. - chose to have dinner included and went to the restaurant at 6:00 and waited an hour and it didn't come. - Stayed with 2 adults and 1 child. Two bath towels. No face towels. - Two toothpaste. - Two 150cm beds but because the beds are inexpensive, two people sleeping in one bed cannot get a good night's sleep. - Security box was not working. - No room service menu, QR code shown on TV. - There is a pizza oven in the restaurant on the ground floor, but it doesn't offer room service. I went downstairs and ordered directly on site. - TV is 32 inches. A bit small. - Room service was ordered twice around 5pm. The wait time took 28 and 30 minutes respectively. - The refrigerator was not working. Noise was sounding, but it was not cooling. - The view of ocean from the 11th floor was not so good. but the roof of the mosque is barely visible. - I was only given one room card at first. I asked for another one later and got it, but the staff asked my room number only. I believe anyone can get my room card if he/she just tells them a room number.

All good. Great for families.

Breakfast buffet had a nice kid section. Pool had a great view. Staff was friendly and helpful. We could hear music from the dance club below at night but nothing too bothersome. suggest getting a higher floor if that's a concern.

Firstly, if you have very young or very old family members, this may not be the best hotel. It is located next to a flyover/ highway with several lanes. Cars travel very fast and crossing it is rather hazardous. That said, the best thing about the hotel is the provision of shuttle services. The shuttle goes to Pahlawan mall and to the Bell Tower at the red square, which is just a short walk to Jonker. So if you have children and seniors and you aren't driving, do make use of this service. Location wise, barring the hazardous crossing, the hotel is just opposite Mahkota Parade which is just opposite Pahlawan Mall, so I'd consider this rather convenient. In spite of this, it's tucked in a corner and it's rather quiet, which I appreciated. The staff at the hotel, as with the rest of Melaka, are very friendly, all smiles and extremely helpful. The concierge was especially indispensable to our stay.
