Hotel Universal Port Vita

Great hotel to visit USJ. The location is right next to the park and a train station, so if you want to explore Osaka it is relatively close. It is a big hotel, but the rooms were very clean and good size for a family of 4. Staff was very friendly. The wifi was a bit inconsistent.

Port Vita Hotel is a good option for USJ being close to the Universal Station rail station. Note that the Osaka airport limo-bus stops at the USJ main gate, which is maybe a 400 yard walk away. This is OK in fine weather but less so in a downpour/typhoon season. The front desk receptionist was outstanding accommodating our requests though. The family room we had was set out well and had all the space and facilities we needed with plenty of power outlets and USB ports. Buffet breakfast was great with a nice selection of relatively healthy offerings. The convenience store near the entrance turned out to be handy when we needed a snack late in the evening. Overall, we were very happy with the stay and would return.

This hotel is great. There are 4 single beds. It’s enough for our family. It’s short walk to UJS and the subway station.

Nice breakfast. Usj is a tiring theme park. Staying at the hotels nearby would be essential for families with kids.

Great service, great for kids, would recommend

There was a long line at check in although it went quickly. Kids received a little welcoming gift (plastic minion purse) which they were thrilled about. They even carried it around USJ and collected park stickers in it. Room was as expected. Parking is ¥3000 per day in the hotel parking garage. The breakfast buffet was good and had a large variety. Although discounted at ¥2500 per adult, seemed rather expensive for breakfast. If you need to have the TV going for kids at any point during the stay bring your own tv stick. No English channels. Kids were happy to see the minions (pictures and figures) at the hotel. We were able to purchase Universal tickets for the next day after check-in at the adjacent desk counter. We were able to get park entrance area passes after we entered the park on the USJ app. They have free lockers if needed about the size of a back pack if needed. We used the washer/dryer while there ¥300 per machine. They had a change machine and a detergent vending machine.

Firstly, the location is very convenient which only takes 1min to the JR station and the Citywalk. Also, it takes 5mins to the USJ and have a convenience store right downstair. Secondly, the staffs are really nice and helpful, it is surprised that most of them can speak English fluently which leave me a good impression. Thirdly, the room is astonishingly well designed with a satisfying size (as the hotels in Japan is “well-known” with its very small size) and it’s toilet seat and bathtub are separated into two area which is “trouble-free”. Lastly, the breakfast and dinner buffet of the hotel are just fair with limited variety of choices. To conclude, I have ever stayed in other partner hotel of USJ including Keihan Tower Hotel, Park Front Hotel and Hotel Kintetsu Hotel, but so far, this hotel satisfied me the most and allowed my family and I have a comfortable stay.
