Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel - CHSE Certified

4 nights at Kartika were very relaxing and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as were the facilities. The pool was especially family friendly. We ate outside on the main street each evening which had a great selection of wurangs. Our room was clean and well presented. The walk along the shore was safe and handy to work off our meal each night. Discovery center next door had great shopping. In all, a great stay.

I chose this hotel because it was advertised as a 5-star property and the pictures looked beautiful. In reality, the hotel was very old and smelled unpleasant 2 STAR.. The check-in experience was horrible. After a long journey, I had to wait 15 minutes in line standing at a supposedly 5-star hotel just to check in. When I finally got to my room, it smelled of mold and urine.!!? I asked to change the room, and they offered to spray some air freshener instead!? Unbelievable. After arguing, I insisted on not staying in that room, and they eventually gave me another room that didn’t smell. The hotel claims to be environmentally friendly, yet they use plastic bottles and straws along with many other odd things. When I wanted to go to the pool, I was shocked by the number of kids screaming and playing in the pool area like it was a children’s play zone. A 5-star hotel should have a separate area for kids away from adults. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I didn’t receive any refund or compensation, despite having the worst experience a customer can have at a 5-star hotel even i complained to the manager. The service was so strange; the staff barely spoke English, and they seemed like they were in the wrong place—definitely not professional. The service was incredibly poor; for example, when I went to the bar with my friend, the staff seemed surprised that we wanted service,I meant that if someone works in the service industry, they should know how to behave.

This is a 3 start property at best….as it needs an update. The only good thing about this property is the location. We had a two bedroom “suite” and the bathrooms were not updated. The breakfast every morning had variety of choices but the service is slow. Also when we checked in late in the evening after a 20 hours of flying, we were given wrong room keys. The property is large and we had to take all our luggage ba k to the front seat with our children to get the correct keys and details like this should be avoided by double checking before giving out room keys. I personally would not stay here as there are many other better options for the money we paid.

Very clean excellent service all ways helpful the only thing I wish they had a water side for the kids beautiful pools play ground breakfast was beautiful will definitely be going back again

We loved the 2 bedroom beachfront villa. The villa and view was fabulous. Staff and amenities were wonderful. The villa pool was perfect for my family. It was a decent size and quite deep. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was enjoyable. Great service from the excellent staff, great pool and beautiful gardens. However we booked this holiday here as it mentioned being family friendly. In most cases it is except for the incessant loud music at night. I mean loud live band every night until 10pm and loud music in the bar until 12AM. The band music is so loud it is clear as day through shut windows and doors on the other side of the resort. It was a real let down as we have young kids and they were usually tired from a busy day out. Was a shame to come back to loud music every night after the loud hustle and bustle of Kuta. We will stay elsewhere next time as not everyone wants to party every single night.

The overall place was an amazing place. Staff, food, cleanliness, great range of restaurants available onsite anf outside of hotel. The biggest downfall was the new nightclub next door to the hotel was very loud every night until early hours of the morning. We could hear the music and the bass of the music from inside oir room with doors closed and tv on. I feel for those that were closer than us and especially if they had children to gey to sleep.

Nice sea views and beautiful beach. It is a nice hotel for family vacation. The shopping mall is within walking distance.

A well kept and always improving resort with many great features including their own restaurants, spa and a beautiful resort style pool with swim up bar PLUS a kids pool!

It’s a great place to acclimatize when you first arrive in Bali. Nice beach access to Kuta beach. Can get better deals with lower level rooms. Nice cultural dancers at breakfast performed by younger hotel staff persons. Excellent pool and recreation facilities for all the family.
