Magma Hotel

A little slice of heaven! Gorgeously situated by a small lake complete with a swan family, a fantastic cabin (“room” does this place wrong), and a wonderful restaurant just a stone’s throw away. We stayed a night and regretted we couldn’t stay longer. We will definitely come back!

Great view, spacious rooms, very friendly staff and delicious coffee. Perfect stopover for our family of 6(2 rooms). Ask for rooms 1&2, great view of the lake. Photo is from our patio.

We only stayed here for one night, but I wish we'd had longer! We were able to check in a little bit early, and our little deluxe double cabin was perfect for us (a couple) and a baby with the provided free crib. Decor was lovely, room was full of light, and the view of the valley was gorgeous. We loved the in-room Nepresso machine, and the Soley bath products. The provided Netflix was also nice. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant. Food was delicious (highly recommend the lamb!) and service was friendly. Breakfast was fine. Standard Icelandic/continental, meaning there was a few cold cuts, some cheese, bread, jams, butter, scrambled eggs and hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, cereal, yogurt, coffee, fruit, some pastries. There are some gorgeous falls across the road, which I recommend stopping by! Our one complaint was that the hot water heater only had enough water for one person to take a hot shower. Second person did not have hot water when showering immediately afterwards. After the towel warmer didn't seem to work. But those are small things. We'd happily stay again!
