Loved the family room - our kids had a fun loft up a set of safe stairs in our room, we had a view of pretty flowers and birds nesting on the cliffs. Free breakfast was great, something for everyone. And walkable to Black Crust (pizza), Skondin Pub (good food and beers), and Skool Beans.

Perfect hotel for a family traveling in Iceland. The family room has a loft for the kids. This was a huge bonus for us since one room could sleep all four of us! The staff was friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel was quiet and clean!

We had a family room that was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. The kids enjoyed 2 beds on a loft which they loved. The breakfast was wonderful. Staff was excellent. Overall a 5-star experience.

Hotel was beautiful, our family room was clean and comfortable for 2 adults and 2 adult sized teenagers.
Breakfast in the morning was buffet style, with plenty of variety, seated in their beautiful restaurant seating area.

This room’s view was something out of a movie! Each time you’d look out the window you could view birds nesting in the rocks. My sons loved the upstairs and I loved the down. Highly recommend for families

Nice hotel with simple touches however a couple of important points. Although the family room being on two levels excited the kids the stair well did not have a handrail which I think would have prevented our daughter from slipping down and ending up in a heap at the bottom of the stairs when she lost her footing. She was okay on this occasion i do believe this is a safety concern and secondly walls mustn’t be well sound proofed as noise transferred easily between rooms as we were woken on several occasions by other guests especially when the bar shut. I think the family rooms should be in a quieter area so there is less chance of couples and parties that are likely to stay out later causing a nuicence.

We stayed here before a few years ago when it was an Icelandair Hotel. We had a beautiful experience in one of the newer rooms with modern aesthetic, decor, furnishings. That room was an upgrade they offered us on arrival and it was a corner suite and amazing.
This time we had a completely different experience. We paid $300, which we thought was a high price but worth it for an exceptional experience. But that was not how things turned out. We did not expect a big upgrade like we got the last time, but we did expect a similar aesthetic and decor. What we had was a small room in the old part of the hotel that was previously an Edda Hotel which in Iceland is a family oriented budget accommodation. The renovations they had made were very superficial. The furnings were mediocre, the walls were scuffed. There was a broken plumbing fixture in the shower. The 2 plastic trash bins were too tall to open where they were placed. There were very few electrical outlets and they were all on one wall far away from the bed. There was a sign asking us to not use too much hot water. The room was locked with a key and it did not feel secure. Overall, we felt that the website photos misrepresented the hotel and we were very unhappy with our stay. If we knew we would be staying in such a room, we would not have booked it.

This was a nice hotel in a very nice area. We stayed in the family room, which slept 4. There was a king bed on the ground level and two twin beds in a separate loft area. Bathroom was nice and clean: large counter space, walk in shower and a small hair dryer (which was not very powerful, but it got the job done). The included breakfast offered a variety of food. The only issues we had were: there was no USB port for cellular charging, the room was very hot (no airconditioning), and the blinds did not completely blockout the midnight sun. Not enough reason to complain. I am very particular about hotels and I would absolutely stay here again.
