Great hotel, but the breakfast buffet was drab and unappetizing. For context, it's in a closed room with no windows in the basement rather than the beautiful dining room on the main floor, the meats under the hot plate were fully dried out and leathery, and there was little to no staff, so dirty pans and plates and spatulas remained at the breakfast station the whole time I was there. If you skip their breakfast, you'll have an excellent stay. I love Café Nektar, but friends and family are obsessed with Café Pekoe.

Overall we had a good stay as the price was great in comparison to the prices in old Québec. But the area has a lot of homelessness so I'd be careful if you are alone or with a child as we were. Also, please note the reception is undergoing renovations but this did not affect our stay at all. I will say, one major negative point is that there is no underground parking or allocated space. The hotel gave us a $22 pass per day to park 1 block away which felt very unsafe due to all the homelessness in the area. Also the parking is actually $18 per day directly from the parking lot so ee got charged $4 more through the hotel. As for the room, we booked a room with 2 queen size bed and a kitchenette and did not get the kitchen which was disappointing as we needed it for our toddler.

The location of the hotel was perfect! We were within walking distance to the theater (~5 minutes), grocery store (~5 minutes) and the ViaRail train station (~10 minutes). There were lots of great eateries nearby that were open past 11pm. For those with children, there is a huge toy store just steps away from the hotel. If you are primarily traveling by foot, it may take you about 20-30 minute to walk to Old Quebec City and it is worth the walk because you pass by a lot of neat galleries and boutiques. The hotel itself was nothing impressive. There is a 'business station' for those who need to check their emails or whatnot. The room we were staying in was well-kept. There was a television and a selection of free DVDs that you can pick up at the concierge if you want to watch something before falling asleep or something to keep the kids entertained. I would definitely go back for the convenient location!
