I stayed here due to a wedding, as we didn't want to drive back to Mississauga at 2am, so we booked and thought it would be a good stay. Nope, I woke up feeling itchy and thought it was just the detergent the sheets were washed in. Nope, 2 hours laters my body started showing welts appearing all over my arms, then abdomen (hotel.com app won't let me add pictures). I wasn't sure what was happening so I went to my doctor, who told me they were bed bug bites. To take a antihistamine and gave me a cream. Now 12 hours laters the welts have tripled in number. I call the hotel to inform them, the MOD Sandy, brushed me off and told me to email the GM and he might get back to me on Monday. I called Hotel.com and they wouldn't help me and backed the hotel. This is absolutely disgusting customer service on both parties. Do not stay here, protect yourself and your family. I shudder to think what would have happened to my toddler if we had brought him.
The breakfast is also a joke, the orange juice is 10% orange flavor and 90% water, there are little to no options, they get you go to so the restaurant can charge you $8/person to get some eggs or actual breakfast. Great scam they are running. We left and grabbed Tim's.

Our room wasnt clean. Room says it includes breakfast but its only toast and cereal. Then you have to order and pay for anything else, we paid over $40 for breakfast for us and our two small kids and the selection was small and the food wasnt good. Restaurant service was terrible and staff was rude.

Checked in late after a wedding reception. There were a bunch of teenage kids hanging outside in front of the lobby. Got to room and it wreaked of cigarettes, like as if someone was smoking in there seconds before we got there. We called and asked to be moved to a different room. They said yes and to come down to the lobby, so dragged all luggage back down and waited for the attendant to show up. We were given the room directly below the old room. The attendant came down with a can of room spray in his hand. When we got to the room, it was clear he had just been in here spraying the room to mask the cigarette smell. We weren't given breakfast coupons until we checked out and when we went to use them, we were shooed away, saying they were about to close. Will never stay at a Monte Carlo again.

They advertised breakfast as included, but they charged extra for eggs! I ended up paying 8 CAD for a small plate of eggs and potatoes, which felt more like a kid’s breakfast. The breakfast they provided was just bread and coffee!
Also, the room lacked curtains, so I couldn’t make it dark in the morning. The light streaming in after 6 AM made it difficult for me to sleep!

Their customer service is very bad and rude. I called for room service for a bottle of water for my baby and I was trying to order food, she answered in a rudely manner that I have to come downstairs and get it and hung up the phone on me. I was not expecting this.

Typically, my partner and I visit this property when we have our staycation away from the kids. Though it is cheaper than most of its competitors, it seems that the property has been declining the last few times we have stayed there. Our room had the T.V. cables ripped from the wall, parts of the jetted tub (caps) were missing, wallpaper bubbling and peeling, and a dirty shower (hair and marks on the shower tub). The manager fixed the T.V. cords for us right away. Check-in was not the friendliest as we waited 5-10 mins before someone acknowledged us. We will likely try and find somewhere else next trip.

Upon arrival and checking at 11:30 pm, we were told there would be an additional charge of $25 plus tax for each of our children (2) over and above of our already rate of $410/night which was not stipulated when we booked the room. We will be avoiding this property at all cost in the future.

The Monte Carlo could do with a face-lift and a bit of TLC, both to update the 80s chic and to make it more welcoming. It was not one single big thing, but a host of little ones. They are fixing the fountain outside the entrance, so bag (or passenger) drop off is rather restricted. One of the two elevators is out of order, and the faded sign would suggest that's not a new thing. The steps that one takes when fed up waiting for the elevator could do with a coat of paint, and a more secure handrail. My king-sized bed felt like a very heavy person had been bouncing on it - the middle sagged in a weird way. One night the chef left unexpectedly, so there was no restaurant, no room service, nothing. The lady on the desk recommended pizza or delivery from a local eatery - I phoned them and they said they have never delivered. So I bought chips from the vending machine, at an outrageous $3 for a small bag.

The property was very clean and staff members were wonderful.
One thing we did not like it was noise from the room next us. There was young lady with a young child. They made a lot noise during the whole night with loud music and banging on the wall and child running during the night, crying and screaming. It was long night for my family but the staff was advised about the situation and they talked to young lady about it.
