The hotel staff made extra effort to allow our family an early check in. It really helped us as we only had to wait an hour versus all day. Thank you so much for caring helping us.

Don’t let the photos fool you - this is a hostel with shared toilets. A dorm, essentially. I booked two nights at Hotel Victorian when I was in town for a concert - at the time, most affordable option in the area, conveniently close to Rogers Arena, and seemed to have some character - beautiful photos. At $250 a night, I wasn’t about to pay an extra fee to have the option to cancel - I wish I would have. Shortly after booking, I got an email from the property saying that there were shared bathrooms on each floor. We arrived and were rudely “greeted” by the concierge. Not sure how this guy ended up in hospitality, but he should be doing something that doesn’t make him so miserable and terribly, terribly unpleasant. Room was tiny, a bed with a TV and pedestal sink - all we needed, really. But at $250 a night???? Sink didn’t turn on at first. Had to turn the water on, then realized why it was turned off in the first place - constant leak. Seems like two full baths and two half baths per floor. On my way to the shower, someone had just taken a huge numero two, didn’t turn the fan on and left the door open to share with the rest of the building. Nice. Showers both occupied, so took myself barefoot and in a robe carrying all my toiletries to the next floor up where the tiles were all wet and towels all over the ground, like after a kid’s bath time. Better off camping or going to the fairmont for $300/night breakfast included. Brutal.

Great place to stay if you like family run small traditional hotels. I love this type of place but if you are used to chain hotels this is not for you. Also there are lots of stairs which is no problem for us but if you can’t do stairs this isn’t for you either. Clean comfortable room with bathroom and shower rooms next door. Always a bathroom available. Close walking distance to everything. Noisy at night outside but it is a city. Will definitely stay here again.

Incredibly loud music from a party in the restaurant next door until 1:30am. It was so loud in our room and made sleeping impossible for myself and my infant; I could even hear the people from the party singing. Staff was not very accommodating or empathetic and did not offer up options to make our stay more comfortable.

Please understand if I use the adverb "exceptional" or synonyms a lot. This is a "boutique" hotel in a charming older building which means it doesn't have a refrigerator in the room or a free continental breakfast like big box chain hotels. But everything else after a long and stressful trip from the east coast was so welcoming and comforting. Beautiful, spacious and comfortable room. All of the staff at every time of day or night was friendly and exceptionally helpful. Very convenient to restaurants (recommend Cafe Medina) and cruise dock. We even felt at home hanging out in the very small lobby when jet lag, time zone confusion and a snoring family member had us wandering out of our room. Simply lovely.
