We stayed for 4 nights in the winter school holidays.
The hotel is large and has big common areas with tables and seating.
The room had 2 double beds (not queen) which were comfortable, a desk and a chair, and a single seat. Not big, but fine with two small children.
The stay included buffet breakfast for 2, and kids under 5 were free. An extra $12 a day for a 7yo. The breakfast was the highlight of the hotel for the kids. Plenty of food to choose from.
The location is excellent, with so many shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Great experience, room was comfortable and spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. Facilities at the hotel were good. Breakfast buffet had a good variety including live counter. As the hotel is located very close to the city centre, the access to malls and civic centre is at a 5-10mins walking distance. Recommended for family holidays.

Located in the heart of the city, everything was in walking distance with a large shopping centre nearby making it super easy for us to get around. Room size was generous for a family of 4 and whilst the facilities are a little run down, it was still clean and offered all of the amenities and needs that we required for our stay.

Very nice staff, good facilities pity about the non-heated pool and the kids space was pretty average for my seven-year-old and my nine-year-old

Just a one night stay. Room was good-beds comfortable. Bathroom desperately needs an update-tap came off in my hand and old rubber bathmat. We stayed on third floor and we could hear a baby crying and people turning on water so it’s not very quiet. Fine for one night but really needs a renovation. Pool area needs it too-old broken sunloungers-not a good look. Gym was pretty good. Breakfast was good and staff were really nice. Good coffee is a nice touch.
Disappointing having to pay $30 for one night parking, took away from the good deal I paid for room. Overall ok but I will stay elsewhere next time I’m in Canberra despite the lovely staff and service I encountered

We booked our family holiday at Crowne Plaza thinking that it would be a rare treat for us.
Unfortunately the experience was not great.
First when I arrived I got to spin a prize wheel & I won 20% off dinner at their onsite restaurant (awesome!). Unfortunately I think I only ended up with 10% discount because there was no record of this prize. It wouldn’t have bothered me if dinner was not so terrible, out of the 4 of us, not one person enjoyed it at all.
When we decided to shower for the night, we realised that the bathroom was probably 40 years old & needs urgent renovations. I can’t speak for others but I expect to not be showering whilst standing in a bath with a shower curtain when staying in a Crowne Plaza hotel.
Come time for bed we realised that there was no top sheet fitted (so it was either be freezing cold with no quilt or sweating with the thick quilt on), I have no idea if this is a normal thing but I don’t get it & hotels half the price use top sheets? Not to mention there were random pillow cases shoved under the bottom sheet for some reason?
We asked for a top sheet to be supplied the next morning, but when we came back after a day of exploring Canberra, the beds had been made up but still no top sheets.
This hotels seems a good location for a work meeting or conference, but it feels as the paying guests are an afterthought.
I will say that the buffet breakfast was decent, but not enough unfortunately to save the whole experience.

Convenient location, clean room, good facilities for families, friendly and helpful concierge staff. However, the room fixtures and bathroom fixtures were a bit dated, hotel pool area was not tidy. Buffet breakfast options were fine but managing kitchen orders seem to struggle with some delays or mixups.

Great stay. Only downside was room had only 1 teaspoon,no plates or saucers. We ate in as we had 2 young children with us but couldn't cut any food up without requesting it via reception. Other than that,no complaints.
