Hotel Mead

Our stay was awful. We have stayed here multiple times in the past due to family living in the area but this one takes the cake. I booked four rooms- none of the rooms we were assigned had enough beds for the amount of people we booked for and we had to fight with the front desk for rooms with enough beds. They tried telling us it wasn’t their fault because we booked our rooms through a third party. When I asked to speak with a manager, the manager wasn’t available to take any calls and not close enough to come on sight and could only accept text messages. I then noticed we were double charged rooms- both on the card booked with and the cards checked in with. I was assured the manager would be in the next morning to help fix things before I checked out and of course the manager didn’t show up again. One of our rooms also had mouse poop. The lady at the front desk had no customer service skills and clearly the manager didn’t care about her job or customer service either.

I stay at the Hotel Mead annually while visiting family. Recently, the Hotel Mead changed ownership. Since the change, on my most recent stay, I noticed the facility is cleaner and on numerous occasions I saw the staff making improvements. The staff is friendly and respectful. There is also now a continental breakfast included in the room price.

Our room was exceptionally clean. The bed was super comfortable. The best part was the quietness of the room. We knew there were others on the floor but you certainly could not hear them unless they walked right by our door. Travelling with 2 small dogs, we totally appreciated the sound proofed rooms! We were visiting family and will definitely stay here next time!

There was no WATER. That means no shower no toilet no tooth brushing no coffee. Ed left without taking a shower. No one had water and the receptionist was an 18 year kid and there was no manager on site, according her. I paid for a campaign stay.

Right in the middle of town - the Hotel Mead has always been the top destination in Wisconsin Rapids. You can walk anywhere from the Hotel Mead. Adding the breakfast was a great add to help our decision in choosing the Hotel Mead. I do have to comment that the selection was decent but the hot food options were sometimes scarce but quickly replenished. The kitchen has promise but it is not there. Having a chef on staff should d give this hotel the upper hand in the breakfast area. The pool and hot tub area was nice and the fitness center was clean and offered a variety of work out options. The room was clean and accommodating. We had a suite which met our needs nicely. Overall the hotel is is very nice but could use some TLC. The lobby is gorgeous and the addition of the amazing massage chairs is an experience all need to experience ! The housekeeping staff was very helpful and for night staff at the front desk was very efficient upon our very late check in. We also brought our four legged children with us. Having this hotel as a pet friendly option pushed the Hotel Mead to the top of the list of places to stay in Wisconsin Rapids. I know we will return to this hotel next time we are in town. This is where I grew up so it will be a frequent stop.

Check in was slow, but they were training a new person. Both front desk clerks were super friendly. Loved that my room was ready and I was able to check in a little bit early! Our room was nice and spacious. But, the bathroom looked dirty. There was a used bar of soap on the bathtub and the floor of the tub looked like old vomit stuck in the cracks. Also, the curtains did block out the sun, but did not reach wall to wall. And on one side of the wall, all the paint was off the wall… come on, that’s an easy fix. The breakfast was great, but my son wishes there was a waffle maker😋 Pool area was amazing!! Pool was warm, unlike other pools in the area where we’ve stayed and they had a few toys for the kids to use. However, the pool closed early at 9pm. By the time we got back to the hotel from visiting family, we did not have much time to use the hotels facilities. Other hotels in the area the pool closes at 10pm for kids and 12 for adults….

The hotel was dirty and extremely dated. Check in service was extremely lengthy and one of the workers was rude to people and extremely unpleasant. It was a busy time because of the events in the area but her attitude was uncalled for to customers. We got into our room and it was never cleaned. It took 4 other workers to get us a new room. Our family members got there room and opened the door to other people already in the room. Would NEVER stay here again. Need new workers and management. Completely unprofessional. I travel a lot and am very patient with hotel staff and situations that arise but this was over the top.

The room was nice and great for my family. We walked by the pool but didn't have a chance to go in. It looked good and there were people enjoying it. We asked at the front desk for water, they had NONE. I wanted a few bottles for the room. There was none in the little store they have, they don't have vending machines either. I was told we could use the bubbler down the hall, but only warm water dribbled out of there.

Awesome motel except for the family in the pool who was very disruptive (especially the mother).

A few things need to be taken care of better. It’s sad to see this hotel in the shoe it’s in. I lived in rapids as a kid and this hotel was beautiful throughout the 90s and it’s taken a turn downhill. The pool area had hairballs and the chlorine was high, hot tub not working and scan card was not great. Fitness center dirty and no towels available to use. Bathtub in room was a bit dirty and drain not working. We love to come visit and stay here because of the history we have but wish it was better taken care of. Sure miss the lounge and the restaurants too!! Breakfast was ok.
