The overall convenience of the location was good due to where we needed to be for the sand soccer tournament. Unfortunately the service was not good my children and i could not get clean linens and called from 8am till 9:30pm to get bedding and towels to sleep and shower, Unfortunately never got any. We slept on the mattress with only a sheet for the night and went down to the pool and got pool towels so that we could shower that night. The next day talked to the manager who said she would send me a free nights stay and have yet to receive anything a week later. I will be contacting the management team again.

When one comes to the beach one wants a view and this hotel has great ones! The parade along the strand plus the kids having fun not to mention the public stage close enough to enjoy a free concert as you sit on the deck and watch the seafarers coming in or going out makes for a wonderful evening entertainment.

The good: larger rooms and breakfast
The bad: Room not available at check-in time
Room did not have bedding for the extra bed knowing reservation was for 4 individuals.
Moldy shower and shower curtain.
Homeless who have set up shop on boardwalk in front of this hotel, even tents on the beach. Obvious drug use, dealing and fights right in front of their hotel…it was a enough trying to explain the drug induced zombie and crazed like behavior to my kids, but being afraid my kids would step on dirty needles (not to mention the trash) in front of this hotel on beach was disgusting.
One elevator not working leaving one elevator for the entire hotel.
Washer/dryer down so linens weren’t available.
This hotel and VA Beach need to clean their act up, together, to ensure a safe, clean, family friendly environment for all who are your actual revenue.

Not clean, poor housekeeping (towels stayed in the hallway the entire stay). No kiddie pool. Tub faucet fell off in my hand. Bed linen soiled. We wanted a budget friendly hotel but loss money because we left early because how uncomfortable the hotel made us feel.

When we arrived for check-in around 7 PM, our room hadn't been serviced from the previous guest. They did not have another room comparable to the one we booked. We opted to wait for them to clean it. We didnt get into our room until 8:45 PM, and it still wasn't completely serviced. We had no towels, a small amount of toilet paper, no blanket on the bed, and no sheets on the pull out sofa.
We soon discovered that the shower base leaked and left the carpet going into the bedroom soaking wet.
Gnats infested the ice machine on the 1st floor.
On the 3rd day we saw a roach in the hall by our room.
Water raining down in the elevator caused us to have to use the stairs on the 3rd floor, which is insanely inconvenient with toddlers.
We ended up checking out before the end of our stay.
The homeless population in this area is unsettling. Some homeless men congregate across the street, and slept by the bike rack on the hotel property during our stay.
I would NOT book here again.

We were put on the 3rd floor. To get to our room I thought maybe the hotel had not recovered from the latest hurricane. Garbage, dirty bedding and massive puddles awaited our arrival to our room. The walls and ceilings had grunge, cracked plaster and filth everywhere. To access the hotel from the boardwalk we had to pass by the garbage bins and other trash. For $369.00 per night I sure was expecting more than a TRASH PIT. It boggles my mind that this place is rated so high. I guess many other guests have a far lower expectation than mine. I have traveled many parts of Mexico and have never found a place that came even close to the disaster at the Comfort Suites. My family and I could hardly wait to leave the place behind.

The prople that work there are nice as they can be. The only reason i gave a 4 is because the pool ladders are terrible. They have 3 steps then right into the pool. It's terrible for elderly, children n heavy people. Otherwise, it was great
Good breakfast too

To whom it may concern:
Hello I am writing to you because we booked a room at your hotel through Expedia. Based on ads, photos it looked like a great place to stay with my family. I traveled with my husband and 1 year old baby. We drove all the way from Asheville, NC visiting family, hoping we can squeeze in some beach time before the winter comes.
Unfortunately our check-in process was the most horrific and terrifying experience for me and my family. We got in late at 9:45-10pm, we checked in at front desk and when we went in to the room which was 401, the room looked like a cluttered mess. There was no bed sheet on the bed, i tried to turn on the lights but there was none, luckily the lamp in the bedroom is on that is how I was able to see that the room was not clean and is full of trash. A guy who works there named Ryan escorted me and my 1 year old at the moment, he called the front desk and relayed the situation. I don’t know about you, but when you book a hotel anywhere else in the world, you do expect it to be clean and definitely ready for use. I had to go back at the front desk, the attendant named Joseph was very aggressive from the start. He was on the phone with “housekeeping” cursing and yelling at them in front of me. I do know one thing about customer service, if something is wrong you make it right and make it better for your guest. That did not happen, Joseph started being confrontational with my husband, yelled at him and calling him names.

The kindness and friendliness of the staff makes our vacation here wonderful everytime. We were so happy that the wonderful breakfast experience was back. The breakfast was the best I've seen anywhere. {The coffee wasn't quite as good. My chef son-in-law said they didn't have their proportion correct.} We loved that the season hadn't ended at labor day and it was still beach friendly with excellent outside showers. I loved that the outdoor restrooms were right there close and a wooden ramp to the beach also. It was pristine clean. There was a Gideon Bible which I used. We were really comfortable and the price was reasonable. The ambience was celebratory. We will continue to come here every year. Jungle Minigolf, which you can use for one payment all day, is close: Abbey Roads restaurant is near: and also Walmart is close. I didn't care for the extra money I had to pay for a few hours for my son and daughter-in- law driving separate and parking, but I understand that is a good way to not be taken advantage of. The shower door wouldn't close but I didn't take the time to tell anyone till I left. The one curtain was torn and the light shades were torn, but that didn't matter to me. I do always document room conditions when I come in, but this has never been necessary here. There was such an eagerness to please. It was just what our family wanted, not too fancy. Thank you, thnak you so much.
