Our stay at Refuge Inn was fabulous. The location is wonderful for accessing Assateague Island and food was easily reached on the main thoroughfare. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed the pool, the rooftop area, and we loved visiting the ponies on property. Our ONLY complaint was that the fitness room was only accessible on the hours of the office (8 am-10pm) as you need a physical key to enter. We are just early morning exercisers with consideration of having small children with us. We would gladly return to Refuge Inn for a future visit.

Refuge Inn was excellent in every way for our family's Chincoteague vacation. The hotel is both quaint and modern, with a pool area that is also a greenhouse with a hot tub. There are horses and ponies onsite, and the inn is about the closest place you can stay to Assateague. Highly recommend for service, value, and cleanliness.

This was the perfect place for our family to stay on the island. As close as can be to the national park, quiet and peaceful, and lots to do on the grounds. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the rooms were spacious and clean. we will definitely be back!

Both staff and lodging guests were very pleasant. No one was disruptive and parents kindly supervised their children. Pool facility was top notch and accommodations were very comfortable. It was nice to see a broad section of guests and ages using this establishment.

Just like the other reviews said - cozy and family- friendly. Really peacefu place and we were able to walk into the refuge from here. Bonus - their gift shop is excellent and has really fun puppets for kids and unique items as well as all the sunscreen and bug repellent you forgot. I love that they had coffee and hot water/ tea available all day. I did not expect to be able to have hot green tea every morning or chamomile every evening but there it was - an excellent touch.

Such a special place! This was our first stay at the Refuge Inn but will now be our go-to spot whenever we have a couple of nights to slip away to the beach. The hotel is immaculate, charming, and filled with warmth and care that the big chains simply cannot compete with. We loved the special soap they have made just for the hotel so much that we purchased some from the gift store. The room was a bit small for our family of 5 (including 3 teens) once they brought the toll-away bed in, but for a quick two night stay it worked just fine. Spent a bit of our last morning watching the ponies on site and fell in love with the young foals. We can hardly wait to come back.

Hotel and property was very clean and neat. Staff were very happy to help upon arrival. Cant wait to bring rest of the family here !
