Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Aransas/Beach Area, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was fabulous!! Clean, quiet, and walkable to the beach! The hot tub was as hottt, which was fantastic! The pool was beautiful with a special kids splash area. Front desk was great and the beds were super comfortable! Best night of sleep I’ve had in a very long time. Will definitely be back!

Staff was really nice and very helpful. The facility definitely needed some work as there were temp air conditioners in the hallways, the elevator refused to open at our floor, and the pool was a bit dirty. The hotel smelled musty but that was very likely because of the high humidity and lack of AC working properly in the hallways. The room AC worked well. The room was clean and comfortable though the beds were a little hard. The hotel is easily walking distance to the beach and the kids really enjoyed the pool.

Picture a little disappointing for the suite. It looked like there was a wall in between the pull out sofa and the queen beds. But it was one straight line of beds. Needed a divider between for kids with their own tv. But very nice place will definitely stay again.

Clean and comfortable. A fantastic (hot) continental breakfast. Close to the beach. A little loud from children running around at night, however I don’t mind that because I was once that kid. We loved our stay here and we will be back.

We came for a family trip to the beach. The check in guy was not friendly at all. The ice machine was broke on the floor we were staying on, our toilet seat was broken in our room, the curtains wouldn’t close all the way so we had bright light shining in our room all night, the pull out couch mattress had blood stains or something red all over it and to make it worse the pancake machine was out of order for breakfast the next day. The breakfast sausage was burnt so hardly edible. We wanted to get a late checkout so we could go on a family fishing excursion but would be back by noon, the evening guy informed me that they don’t do any late check outs for any reason because it makes it difficult to wash linen and clean rooms. I was very disappointed, we’ve always been able to delay check out at Holiday Inn at least for an hour or so and because everything else was so terrible you would think they would do some type of accommodation to help make up for it. I won’t be staying at this hotel again

Front desk clerk at check-in was not it. Super unfriendly and unengaging. Despite our pleases and thank yous he was stoic at best. There was a small roach in our bathtub. We went down to the pool area, and it was not the cleanest. There was this big planter next to the pool. Huge roaches and little ones were crawling in and out from in between the plants and running around the edge of the planter. I didn't want to complain because I thought , "What can he do about it now?" I went in to ask check-in guy for some pool towels, and he said he would bring some out. I went back outside and just as I was telling my husband that he was bringing towels out a huge roach was on my shoulder! When guy came out I informed him about the roach in my room, the ones on the planter, and the one on my shoulder, and he didn't respond at all! He just put the towels in the cabinet and walked away. I felt terrible. I didn't want to be that woman that complained at all. I was always very polite to him, and so his disregard to our discomfort really hurt. It really soured our overnight stay especially as we hadn't been to the coast in ten years. We will not be staying here again.

Holiday Inn has definitely gone down hill a bit. The hotel floor we were on seemed to not have working air in the hallways though there was working air in the rooms. The room smelled of mold and the bathroom was not the cleanest. There was visible mold in the tub and on the ceiling and in all the corners. Lastly, the lady that was watching the breakfast area was very rude and loud about it. When I was beginning I grabbed a tray for my kids to put their plates on and she literally yelled “uh uh uh!!!! No no no no!!!!! Trays are for taking food back to your room so put it back this ain’t Luby’s!!!” She continued to be bossy and rude to everyone who came in and I was very surprised that the property employed someone like that. Overall it was close to the beach and the sheets were clean which was mainly why we went so if you’re just looking for somewhere to get the job done and cleanliness isn’t a big deal then this is your place.

Front desk staff were nice and accommodating. When my Husband & I were getting breakfast we were scolded by the lady whom preps food, very disrespectful. We are 47 yrs old, NOT children, and with my Hubby having severe PTSD thanks for triggering and ruining our day!! Ridiculous!

We got in late at night, close to midnight so when they assigned our room, even though I knew it was not the 2 queen suite I had paid for, we didn’t argue it, as we were tired. That night the a/c in our room did not work, making it miserably hot. The shower head barely put out any water, and the shampoo and body wash were both out. The beds were uncomfortable as well. The next morning when we got up, I talked to the lady at the front desk who happily changed our room for us. The room we were then given was the 2 queen suite that I had actually paid for. The a/c worked in this room and the beds were slightly more comfortable, but there was no stopper for the tub, making it impossible for the kids to bath since they are too young for showers. The room was dirty and smelled musty. Breakfast choices were minimal. Overall, very disappointed stay.

Place is dirty, there were cockroaches in the living room, the carpet was wet and it smells like feet. Front desk person was so rude. This place does not offer military discount. We paid $841 for 2 nights which is insanely expensive and the breakfast was gross. I will never put my family and my kids to this place again. I will let everyone I know not to stay at the holiday inn in Port Aransas. It’s not worth it at all. Stay away from this place.
