Comfort Suites Johnson City near University

Family of 5 - we liked the extra bed afforded in the fold-out sofa. Desk clerk was friendly and responsive. There were a number of things we did not like. The shower/bathtub did not look like it had been scrubb cleaned in weeks/months. It was quite easy to rub scum off the shower wall with a cloth. Our family did not use this shower. Dining was horrible. The biggest put-off was three bowls of bananas that were virtually black and rotten with swarms of black flies flying all around the bowls. We're not talking a handful of black flies...there were literally hundreds. Additionally, the hot breakfast was awful...tasteless artificial eggs, milk jug was empty, coffee dispenser was empty and all the yogurts were gone. The man supposedly taking care of the dining area acted put out and inconvenienced when asked for refill milk and yogurt...he brought one (1) yogurt. This was still one hour before breakfast was scheduled to end and these were the problems encountered. We will never stay at this hotel again. 6 out 10 stars for facilities, 3 out of 10 for dining experience. Fire the dude with the black beard tending to dining. He is not a good example representing this hotel.

The hotel is a very nice hotel. The dog barkingnwhile teyingnto sleep, and the kid banging on our door at 6am was not good.

Was your average run of the mill hotel. The bed was absolute garbage and smelled like my grandma's room when I was a child.

This hotel is perfectly adequate, but there are two or three things that would make me perhaps want to stay somewhere else. 1. Housekeeping. It is only available Monday-Friday and by request. That's inconvenient, but not a big deal. We made sure to specifically request housekeeping, but when they came they just handed us new towels, they did not make the bed or tidy up. 2. The breakfast was basic. Waffles would have been the highlight, but there was no fruit (which we wanted) and the coffee was brown water. We made a point to eat breakfast out each day. While this breakfast would have been probably been adequate for a family with kids, for us didn't care for it so it didn't end up saving us any money. 3. The facilities were clean and comfortable, but this hotel is clearly running down. The ceiling had water damage, the walls in our room had cracks near the floor, but not enough of an issue to not stay again.

Our stay at Comfort Suites was only one night. We were able to book a suite with 2 queens & a sofa bed. We were returning our 3 grand children home after a Summer visit. We were grateful to have a clean & comfortable room that was reasonably priced. Additionally, our 2 small dogs stayed for an additional 20.00 each.
